This song happened to be the theme song for a commercial on TV at the time, which we both loved, and it was also playing in the coffee shop when we met. Just under a year later, we married and had the song playing as we got married. It holds such good memories for us and as my husband has now been diagnosed with dementia, when this song starts playing he looks at me and gives me such a loving, knowing smile that my heart just melts.

This was in the AT&T commercial in the summer of 2009 and this video was released months later. When I heard this song that summer when I was just coming out of 7th grade going into 8th grade, I felt like it was just another good tune from AT&T that they've been having since 2006. And good story!

There’s a town in the foothills of Los Angeles with an historic old town Main Street. Tucked in with the florist, the jeweler, the pet store, and the Stationary store I worked at, was a little coffee shop called 45 Beantown. It was where everyone, old folks or teens, divorcees, or new parents with their bundles of joy, could escape the world and connect with people, or escape people and connect with themselves. I met my husband there. He says he knew it the instant he saw me. He says I was wearing a green dress. We’ve been married 22 years now, and we have 7 children. Our firstborn just got married. Those 7 amazing souls exist because my husband and I both felt at home at Beantown. There’s something so romantic about a 1990’s coffee shop. The mismatched thrifted furniture, the unprofessional art, the punk kids bumming cigarettes at the porch, the philosophy Proff.s giving their wares away for free, the delicious aromas, the spiral bound poets, the chessboards with mismatched queens and kings. It’s magic.

This song has been my all-time favourite for around 6 years now. I moved to Canada one year and a month ago, I didn't have a car nor my driver's license yet so I couldn't go far at first. Luckily there was a Starbucks that was a 12-minute walk away from my home, so I used to go there quite often. The baristas there are very chatty and friendly, and there was this particular one with the blue-est eyes I have ever seen. He and I would chat very briefly when he was taking my orders, preparing my drinks or just working around my table. For 6 months straight, I would see him around 3-4 times a week every week and chat. Sometimes I'd come in wearing a funny t-shirt or a t-shirt with a rock band's name on it and we'd start talking longer than we're supposed to while he's at work and we eventually realized how much we actually click. I started developing a crush on him and a big interest in him. One Thursday in March, I came in and ordered two drinks -- one for me and one for my sister. He made my drinks and then gave me an extra lid and said "The lid on this one is quite flimsy, so here's an extra one just in case" and winked at me. I was confused at first and did not know why he winked at me but was happy regardless. I walked out, looked down, and written on the lid he gave me was his number. I texted him later that night and we chatted further. He asked me out that day and we went hiking on Saturday -- 2 days after him giving me his number. In 3 days, we'll be celebrating our 6 months together. We both are very happy, very loved and very serious about each other. What a lovely coincidence that I met the man I love in an old coffee shop that I used to visit almost every day. I knew this song has been my one ad only all-time favourite for a reason :) Perhaps it's destiny. I still have the lid btw lol

Corny story. The first time I met him, I went to a place called the cosmic cafe. Downstairs was a cafe upstairs was a stage where people can sing or do poetry every Thursday night. I went with a friend and I saw him there. He went up on the stage, and played a love song. As he was singing he kept looking at me. Next Thursday comes and I go again with my friend to see him sing. And we said we will be friends. But we couldn’t (as I never stopped having feelings for him and he never treated me right even as a friend. After so many toxic incidents one day he left me. He never replied to my last text, my last call, when i called him from behind he ignored and walked away) He was never a good friend to begin with pal. I knew it from beginning and i didn’t have the courage to walk away. And when it finally happened (i blocked him 2 months ago) I started to return to myself. Though it took me courage to do so. But I am finding my old self back. Life is weird buddy. If they were meant for you they never leave you at first place. And if that girl didn’t understand your feelings even after all these days she doesn’t give a shit buddy.

@@emaharry9642 true, I knew this all along yet I don't courage to walk away, but I will do so, don't hurt myself for some person who doesn't give a shit bout me....but I feel that she should wake up she's chasing her ex who once cheated on her and treated her like trash, don't wanna see her hurt even though I will be in the process of waking her up... I might sound hypocrite and weird but that's how I feel and that's I don't feel like walking away.

Guys i think I'm falling for a girl at work. Every time I listen to this song I think of her. She's kind, considerate, full of good energy, outgoing, so easy to talk to, very likeable. She is liked by everyone, it's very hard to assume she's single as someone that perfect can't possibly be single. I get nervous talking to her, i see butterflies whenever i see her face, we don't talk much because we are in separate teams. I know that this is a recipe for disappointment as i know my chances are slim to none, but this song gives me hope.

Sorry to disappoint you both but this particular story doesn't have a happy ending. I lost interest after getting to know her a bit, she's great and all but i still look for my ex in every girl i talk to and sadly they don't measure up to her.
