Thank for this beautiful work, I only began to draw in the past two months and it's becoming more and more an obsession lol. But sadly I can't take any type of classes or know anyone who can help, so I rely strongly on the amazing artists on KZbin who take the time to share these tutorials! Idk how I've not came across yours in past two months but you have a new fan and student. Again Thank you for the time effort and amazing work you do! And I will support asap, I'm just little below that poverty line lmao. 43 yo father of four from the Appalachians where art or drarwing as they call it here isn't something that gets supported lol. So closet wanna be artist! Again thank you this picture inspired me to try something beyond comic book heros!

I stopped drawing when I started work at 15. I started again 15 years later when I was bed ridden for 6 weeks with a hip replacement. I was a better drawer within 6 months of starting again, than I ever was when I was younger, all thanks to youtube. You'll get all the skills you need right on here my friend. I sell portraits all over the world now because of youtube tutorials. Are you still drawing?

@@eddiebear34 yes but life has its ways of slowing progress. But I've gotten a lot better more confident. I've had several people suggest I put some of my work on Etsy or something else but I'm not sure it's quite that good. Beside if I'm being honest I love it when I show someone my pictures and they see one that lights them up smiling and happy and I give them the pic in a way I feel like I drew it just for that person before I knew they wanted it. But my drawing has been above all the most therapeutic thing I've found to help me relieve stress and focus. I also learned I'm far better with cartoons than anything, but at. I'm looking to branch out to more realistic wildlife. I'm hoping to get some charcoal stuff and try some of yours. Again thank you for what you do. Sorry I haven't gotten to support but life in our current world is far more expensive than ever. I'm now doing with used supplies as I can find them. Have far more outcome than income.

I've learned so much watching you. I have a question about a problem with pressure. I seem to have a very light touch when using graphite and I would welcome any suggestions. Pressing "hard," is difficult for me, but I can usually achieve a variety of values....just not as dark a range as I would l like. I do layer pencil grades and that helps, just not as much as I would like. Ive been drawing on Arches, 110 lbs extra white drawing paper. Perhaps I should shift to a vellum Bristol paper. What do you think?

You could switch to charcoal or work with graphite on a sanded paper.
