Steve, it is not easy to find interesting subjects, but it looks simple in your video, just getting a good composition makes the subject... a subject! Thank you for sharing.

A really interesting video Steve and some great shots, I was thinking about the old boats and some of the memories they must have, if only they could tell. It would be a great location on a warm summers day. Thank you for sharing.
@SteveONions6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony. It really is lovely on a summers day and only a couple of minutes from the car. I’ve spent a couple of full days there in the past and everything changes when the tide comes in.

Another great video Steve, brings back memories of 75 years ago when Heswall was a port for shrimp fishing. The tide came right up to wall every day. I was an evacuee to Parkgate in 1943 a little way upstream. It was then also a shrimp port which was hardly operating due to the rapid silting up of the estuary. Incidentally Steve, Parkgate is a fine location for photographers, excellent for bird watchers and with some fine B&W buildings. If you haven't already been there it may suit your style.

Thanks Brian, I would have loved to see the place all those years ago. I’ve driven through Parkgate a few times but never tried to photography it, I’ve made a note to go there this year.

Nice one again Steve. I have just been to new Brighton this weekend and commented on you in my vlog. I’ll put a link in as well as you was my inspiration. I was also where you are a couple months back so I’ll be going back there again just as you have opened my eyes on that place as well and see some images I would like to try. Thanks again great images and ideas.

HI Steve. I was there mid last year. Forgot the wellies and something to put the camera bag on. So still finding mud! Great vid as well. Cheers Diz
@SteveONions6 жыл бұрын
It’s certainly muddy and one trip with an incoming tide I twice fell into waist deep water due to hidden gulleys filling up.

Brilliant video Steve with some great images, one or two of those boats looked like do uppers. It looks an amazing place, but I think it’s one I’ll have to give a miss as I can’t see my scooter faring well in the mud. I really liked the music in this one, it seemed perfectly suited.

It’s easy access Mark, just 2 minutes from the free car park and there a restaurant at the top of the beach!

Steve O'Nions Thank you so much for that information Steve, you’ve no idea how much things like that mean and I will certainly pay a visit soon. Off to the RSPB on the Solway tomorrow with my 7DII , but might go there next week.

I have been waiting for you to release this video since you said you had filmed it. I really like the location and you captured some great shots. I don't think you do enough 35mm work.
@SteveONions6 жыл бұрын
It worked well for use a few years ago, we should do it again. I’ll be using 35mm a lot more this year especially as I can work with longer focal lengths than medium or large format.

I loved the video(i ve watched twice in a row) The site is a vein to take pictures, and the bw has been very good. You could illustrate us sometimes as you reveal the images in bw?, scan the negatives and then photoshop?, some special technique ?. I personally get bored with video editing tutorials but a few small notes ....

I’ll try and put in a little more processing info in future Joseba.

That was some pretty good mud. Very nice shots of some very good boats, too. How did all those boats get there, anyways? Is that just the agreed-upon place to leave your boat when it is time for it to retire?
@SteveONions6 жыл бұрын
Most have been sat there for years steadily decaying. One of the ones I shot used to be in full working order then it got badly damaged in a storm 5 years ago and has now joined its friends.
