1.Start by preparing your canvas with a base coat of color, a very diluted earth tone, using a large brush. Let it dry completely before continuing.
2. Sketch the composition: Use a soft pencil to lightly draw the general shape of the trees and shadows on your canvas.
3. Work in the shadows: Using darker shades of green and brown, paint the shadows of the tree leaves. Try to capture the feeling of sunlight filtering through the leaves. Use loose brush strokes to depict the shapes and textures of the trees.
4. Add the foliage details: Once you have painted the shadows, you can add the additional details of the foliage of the trees. Use small, quick brush strokes to represent the different textures and shapes of the leaves. Use a combination of green and yellow tones to give life and realism to the foliage.
6. Add finishing touches of light: To create the effect of light filtering through the leaves, use lighter shades of yellow and white. Apply small highlights to the tops of the branches and leaves, using soft, delicate brush strokes.
Remember to work in layers, allowing the bottom layers to dry before applying new layers of paint. Also, practice with different shades and color mixtures to obtain the desired effect. Have fun and enjoy the creative process!
