I made it to Chamonix in the Alps, the weather held (Briefly) and I was able to capture a handful of beautiful images with a brand new Canon 5DS R.

This day, a year ago, I would have never thought that in the next 12 months I am going to invest a lot of my time and hard earned money on landscape photography - that includes the initial equipment, the 3 upcoming trips this summer and many more to come later in life. Tom has been my biggest inspiration in my journey so far and I'm sure I'm not the only soul he's influenced. My sincere thank you, Tom!

So you walked 2 hrs up, got one really good image, walked down in under 2 hours and then had breakfast. Sounds like the perfect shoot to me! For me half the joy of landscape photography is going places and walking about.

Someone has commented that you are a great story teller, well, let me tell you, they're spot on! I've learnt so much off your videos and that's because you tell it as a story, you make it really easy to follow. You're such an inspiration, every time I watch a video all I want to do is pick up my camera and set off somewhere. Keep up the exceptional work you're doing Thomas, I for one think it's brilliant...

The thing I can't get over is, he actually walks ahead, plants a camera and then backtracks and then walks forward again like it's totally candid. Hiking some places is enough without going through all that. That's real dedication. And he won't be doing that at 40, so this is history so to speak. It will live on. Sometimes the journey is better than the destination.

Watching old vids over lunch. Its a beast of a hike to that station and an amazing place. The glacier is one of my favourite compositions taken on my 5DS with that s-curve. I probably prefer the Aguilles Rouge side of the valley, as it's greener, has more wildlife and overlooks this side of the range.

Funny you should quote Alastair Humphreys at the start, I found his and your blogs at almost exactly the same time a few months ago. I'm reading his books right now, the guy's a modern legend! Between his passion for adventure and yours for landscape photography I've been inspired to take a trip he wrote about; three weeks cycling around Iceland's ring road. Hopefully on that trip I get to put into practice many of the valuable insights you've shared on your vlog. The fact that people like yourself take the time to share your passion is a huge inspiration to many people. That you are so open with your knowledge and approach is also great and I hope you keep it up! I've learned a huge amount from watching your videos, so I wanted to say thanks and keep sharing!
