I pay as much time to the production in video as i do with the photographs themselves and re the music, timing, and narration - not too many people notice it, as there is a plethora of people doing videos on here. hi there. Thanks for t=your feedback. I use my little Canon m50 at 50fps and at 1080P. Keeps the profile flatter than trying 4K. I use a 55-250 UFS lens which is older glass and without firmware. Great video and images as always Ewan. I visited New Zealand in October 2018. During that trip I visited Mount Cook, Hookers Lake and the Tasman Glacier. I fell in love with the area. Unfortunately COVID had prevented a return trip. I can feel your anguish at the loss of the lens. I recently had the same thing happen. Getting filters out of my bag and I heard the crash behind me. Camera and lens totally wrecked. Not a pleasant experience. I have a question about your panorama workflow. You shoot in landscape orientation and only seem to shoot 1 row. Do you shoot multiple rows or just stick to one row? I shoot Canon APS-C and landscape gives me a very skinny image so I shoot portrait and take 6-7 images and then shoot a second and sometimes a third row to makes sure I get all the information I need. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
@EwanDunsmuirImages3 жыл бұрын
Hi JOhn. Thanks for the feedback mate. I usually only shoot one row, and I think i said in the Pano video that i did, I determine the vertical 'Y' Axis in terms of the composition capture i require, which in turn.. determines the lens focal length and coverage. I usually do this in vertical orientation, then go form left to right or VV to achieve the 'x" axis. Even printing large images, very rarely do i need more data than that and a 5 or 6 shot 'c size' pano would still give you 70mp of image at 50% overlap - so more than enough even for a 1.5m print = ) Hope that helps. Ewan

As I sit here it's just gone 5am and the get up for a sunrise statement made me chuckle - it's bucketting down outside 😄 Great to hear that calming Scottish accent on video once more. I suppose the South Island is one big honeypoy location for photography, hence the day long jouney to Mount Cook National Park, it certainly looks it. I remember you breaking the vlogging camera. On any trip that would be a bummer but on somethig like this no wondr you felt quite low... but thank goodness for iphone filming eh... you have still managed to film snippets that has the atmosphere of the moment and add that to the stunning images captured it really was a joy to watch Ewan - when you come away with a couple of wall hangers you know its been a great shoot. The last 12 months or so has been a difficult journey wherever you are in the World and things we took for granted are now perecious moments we need to enjoy - I hope you are back out enjoying those moments with your camera more regularly & if its accompanied with a vlogging rig also all the better for us. Many thanks Weibin. I do very few workshops and try to keep them limited as i enjoy the one to one or low number aspects of them as it keeps the thinking fresh. I am currently planning the itinerary for a 6 day workshop in the end of September covering Mount Cook, QT and Milford. The dates at this stage are 29th Sept - 5th Oct. Ill put details on Facebook. facebook.com/ewandunsmuirimages Kind regards, Ewan

the gods of photography paid you back in kind for tasman lake shots....because you broke your vlogging setup..I have been to tasman lake a few times being from Christchurch and Never had that sort of sky there or at hooker lake.......would be keen to see what workshops you end up setting up.

That was the best 14 minutes and 39 seconds I have enjoyed today Ewan. Thank you. So nice to see you back online, and so nice to see those images. A stunningly beautiful place, captured and displayed in a stunning way. Hope you get the vlogging camera fixed okay and with minimal delay and cost. Thanks again for the enjoyment and inspiration.

New subscriber here, loved the video! That sunrise was all time! Wow what a moment to witness and cherish. Agree that Aoraki-Mount Cook National Park and especially that eastern side of it is just mind-blowingly beautiful. I dream of returning once the restrictions ease for us in Western Australia to get back across there.

Thanks Jordan. Nice that you know the location too. I was pretty lucky, and must have been Karma for me being patient with my clumsiness the day prior! Thanks very much for the subscription too. Thats always appreciated. Ewan
