I really enjoy your channel & learn a lot from your videos. So much so, that I’ve gone back to your very first and plan to watch every one!

Absolutely amazing. I am just about to start with landscape, bought some basic filters (skipped Lee for the beginning, purchased some Haida system) and this is the channel I was looking for. Really good tips and very good ideas for people like me who are just at the beginning. Also very nice photos at the end with different compositions!

I really enjoyed your video and, in particular, the way you have your video camera set up to give your viewers a good look at the scene you're shooting. This is really refreshing and much better than the endless selfie stick talking heads used by most vloggers. Your style allows the viewer to more easily relate to the comments you're making while going through the process of setting up the shot and I'm sure I'm not the only one to appreciate it. Thanks, you've got yourself another new subscriber!

@@TomMackieLandscapes You're more than welcome Tom. Your landscape work has taken you many places. A couple of my favourites are the Canary Islands, the Azores and Ordesa National Park in the Pyrenees. Have you shot in any of those locations?

At last someone who is giving insight into photographing landscape, instead of selfie vlogs and giving not so good advice. I know photography is subjective but they should be following your lead and read the correct books before giving advice. Well done. You have a new subscriber!!!

Hi Tom. Any reason why you didn't have your camera down lower, i.e. almost on the beach? I thought it might have given a better foreground?
@TomMackieLandscapes5 жыл бұрын
Tried it Ray, but did not feel the composition works and you lost the impact of the leading lines.

When you use your Hoodman loupe, do you find if you did AF that you need to tweak the focus? Or, do you manually focus all the time? Thx
@TomMackieLandscapes6 жыл бұрын
Tend to manually focus most of the time. When I have used auto, not normally has any issues.

Would you consider the Nikon D7200 as an adequate camera for landscape? Most reviews on it are positive. Thanks!
@TomMackieLandscapes6 жыл бұрын
Yes for sure Greg. Its about getting to grips with techniques and then getting the most out of the camera. Good luck!

Yes by all means leave the groins in the image but only the top 4-5 and leave the beach out as it just doesn't need it...

Have that shot John, composition did not look right in my opinion due to lack of contrast, but all in the eye of the beholder!
