Oh, Rainbow! Two rainbows! I love the expression on your face. What it's all about. I kind of envy the beauty of the woodlands you have access to. Lovely.

You always give sound and clear advise to others Gary, Thank You for that. The last time I was in the lake District was when I took my relatives there just before they emigrated to Australia, they said take us somewhere that will be forever England, and it was the lakes we took them too, that was 1973 and I have never been back there, isn't that amazing, I was a member of a camera club (not now) for 50 years and all the best landscapes were done in the Lake district its a stunning place, and your pictures do justice to the place, thank you so much for showing them to us!

Loved the opening sequence of photos the contrast between the mist and then the clear conditions by the trees in silhouette worked really well. The rainbow ones are spectacular the stillness of Grasmere was mirror like and the seven image pano being my favourite.

Wow Gary. What else is there to say ‘but’ : Epic!! As to the lone tree syndrome - don’t beat yourself up to bad there. I live in Easter Oregon- it’s 150 or so miles to Mt Hood - one of the most photographed mountains in the Pacific Northwest. I have maybe 3 images of that mountain even though I’ve stood on its slopes a hundred times. Same reason - every one else has pixelated it. Seams like we sometimes put ourselves in a box we’re afraid to crawl out of. Your portrayals of the lone tree are stunning. Thanks for sharing.

I have shot the Lone Tree last 2 autumns. 2019 it had lost it's leaves but this year it was in leaf still and sorry but the colours this Autumn were top notch in my book. Alas no mist. Funnily enough I had a rainbow there when on Loughrigg Terrace and another when I was at Walla Crag - real highlight for me as first rainbows I have shot. PS - glad you spoke about taking the obvious shots, I can't see why some Pros look down their noses at taking them. Yes you can get others but iconic shots are iconic for a reason!. Stay safe.

Hi Gary, Another great video. Awesome images, especially the ones with the rainbow. Here's a photography tip Gary. Don't drink all the hip flask at once then you won't fall in the water. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas
@markjutsum61874 жыл бұрын
Good stuff Gary, really like the evening shots of the lone tree. Just proves it’s all about the light. Totalyagree with you, nothing wrong with taking a a pic at a common site. Maybe the photographers take common site photos uncommonly well. Nice to see you getting your feet wet yet again. Not sure about the new subtle orange jacket. All the best for Xmas and 2021 MJ

How did you manage to fall down that hole, Gary! It was reminiscent of the Vicar of Dibley sketch - wandering along splashing in a puddle that ends up being 5 ft deep! It certainly didn't look that deep just in the shallows of the lake. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed your vlog - good tips, and some belting scenery!
