Thank you Patrick. Yes that’s how I like to make my vlogs. I don’t wish to patronise people or tell them how to go about their photography but feel it maybe useful to see how I go about mine. Thanks for commenting.

Good to see you back out and about James, like you I felt incredibly rusty when I first ventured out, both technically and creatively. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the coming months.

Yes it pays to practice. Looking forward to the rest of summer and autumn to work off that rust. 2 more vlogs scheduled and more to be made in the weeks ahead. Cheers.

Glad to have you back on t'web. I recently purchased a large format (film) camera and am enjoying learning the various movements available, like your tilt/shift lens. Plenty of fun and great to get everything proper on the image, instead of digitally manipulated (which I also do at times).

Thanks a lot Jason. I hope you enjoy your large format. Something I’m yet to get into myself. Maybe only a matter of time.

James Bell - Landscape Photography if you need to to use a HC from 28 to 210 give Me a call also you can have a 95mm filter dune adaptor ring for lee system

Thank you John, that’s very kind of you however I sent the HCD24MM and the Tilt shift back yesterday as I found the results I were getting not sharp enough for my needs. I suspect it’s due to the lenses in the HTS1.5 which softened the image as the HCD24MM on its own was as sharp as my xcd lenses. A real shame as I was excited at the prospect of shooting tilt shift again. I’ve got two more videos to come with it but unfortunately I’m not willing to compromise on image quality given the expense and weight burden. I’m considering an alternate direction now. Thanks again for your kind offer. I appreciate that. I was considering a 150 or 200 H lens but not the adapter had gone back I’ll stick to my Adapted V lenses. I wish Hasselblad made a native wide angle Tilt Shift lens for the X1D. It’d be perfect for my needs then.

Hello, thank you for your videos and I really enjoy you take on considered photography (not snaps). You have a video of X1d and a cambo adapter. How do you compare the HTS with that? It looks like the cambo was much easier to use (though more expensive?)
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Cambo is a joy to use and produces much nicer (sharper) images. I found the HTS was soft given all the defraction with the lenses involved. Both are expensive and heavy. I miss my canon 24mm TSE.

Hi James, Is funny I had this thought about two years ago and had the chat with Mark and Hasselblad UK and at the time he was not sure. Just as a different thought I have three of the PCe lens for Nikon and just this week got hold of the Fotodiox adaptor for my X1D. They seem to work OK until you get to extreme move moments. I am not sure about the electronic shutter but seem OK to with it limitation.I will start to test in August when I am allowed out. I will enjoy your videos thank you for sharing.
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, yes I have also tried the Nikon and canon TSE lenses but didn’t find they offered the solution I was looking for. It’s a shame Hasselblad don’t make a native tilt shift solution for the X1D. A 24mm Shift lens is all I really need.
@johnhjic24 жыл бұрын
@@JamesBellLandscapePhotography I two wish that they did. I now have two of the Fotodiox bits of kit the adaptor and one of there extension tubes. They work but there is a big difference in quality. But I am testing them as best as I can while in lockdown I till August.... Nice video.
@johnhjic24 жыл бұрын
@@JamesBellLandscapePhotography Hi James I know that I just got the Fotodiox adaptor last week and only can test it in side I see what you mean yes it work but only wide open :( its a good job I did not buy the lenses for the X1D... But I still love my X1D and to be honest I thing it the best camera I have ever own or used.

Thanks Steve. Yes let’s hope so. It was extremely busy last weekend. If it’s going to happen it’ll certainly hit the Lakes as you wouldn’t know there was an issue now. Looks just like any other summer day with loads of people about.

That tilt shift looks nice, probably too complicated for me. The colours in the sky look nice, along with the reflections too. Another place to visit in October.
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew. It’s not that complex in practice. Especially the shift feature. The tilt feature however can be challenging.

Good to see you out and about again James, I always learn something from your films, so I appreciate you sharing here. Re your camper, you could always put a small( hand written) sign in front and back windows saying, "I'm local, this is my car, I'm not on holiday" it may placate those likely to get upset, lol. I'm not exclusively a landscape photographer but I always take a 70-200 for those longer shots which can help to capture any distant epic light, actually that's a lie I don't always take one but you can bet if I don't there will be a heavenly light display in the next valley or on the next hill! Stay safe and keep shooting. cheers, Tony.
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thanks as always for your support Tony. I’ve hardly left the house the last 3 months or so so no big deal with the van. It’s been a hot topic in the Lakes though with vigilante attacks and police pulling people over daily. Things seem to be back to normal now so hopefully people will be sensible and there won’t be a second lock down. Yes I sure miss a longer lens. I have the 150 and 250mm lenses I can use from my v system but they are big and heavy and combined with this brute of a tilt lens too heavy to carry combined. I really should keep the 150mm in my bag all the time for situations like this. Thanks for your support as always.

Very interesting, nice photos. There was a video on “On Landscape” about T/S lenses the other day where they talk about theory behind them.
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Casper. Yes I saw that to day after I shot this. I’ve spent a week or so putting it all into practice but for some reason this setup just never delivered the sharp images I need. Too many lenses in the way which is a real shame as I really wanted this to work. I’m looking for alternative options.
@casperghst424 жыл бұрын
@@JamesBellLandscapePhotography the whole idea about T/S gives me a headache. I hope that you will find a way to get sharp photos with this setup.
@JamesBellLandscapePhotography4 жыл бұрын
The shift element is simple and really all I need but the tilt is what gets me. I seem to struggle with that a lot. So much so that I returned this lens yesterday. I tried every permutation of setting and the best I could get from it just wasn’t good enough. Too many pieces of glass in the way I suspect as the adapter had two lenses too.
@casperghst424 жыл бұрын
James Bell - Landscape Photography that is very interesting, I am interested in seeing what you end up with, as the idea behind tilt is to be able to have the whole (or most) of the focus plane in focus.
