Lang Lang takes quite a few liberties with the tempo as one would in a solo, so Gina does a phenomenal job of adjusting her playing on the fly, keeping their playing in unison. Bravo!

Amazing. I am a musician and I never even paid attention to how he moves when he plays, I see it as natural, like Gould conducting when he has a free hand for a second. I love the way he plays, even listening to music I wouldn't choose but I want to hear how he plays it. Even the Goldbergs, listening to Gould for decades, I was shocked how much I liked his Bach playing, so different but I really feel Bach. Only thing is less ornaments next time, I find too many interrupt the flow of the music. But wow, gorgeous piano sound for Bach and so clean, if you use pedal I don't want to hear that you did. The way it is played made me think of Dvorak Dances, I am so glad Dvorak got the idea from Brahms. The way it is played here is more slavonic almost. It has to have that sudden wildness then slow movement, bang the fast part hits again. This kind of music gets smoothed out too often. Are there more duets? This was great.

Love it. Early piano piece I learned. Not crazy about piano duets, usually to gawdy for me, but this was very enjoyable. Took Farrante and Teichers Exodus duet and transcribed it up a half step and into a solo and played it for years, in church, at that huge lobby at Old Faithful Inn. I do enjoy their duets. After all these years loved hearing the great Lang Lang play this. Happy to see the romance harmony of an icon.
