Effortless and brilliant - Lang Lang is so relaxed playing for this huge Royal Albert audience consequently he can concentrate on direct communication with them and of course they love it. A person who is annoyed by the constant, sickening smiling as seen here, doesn't have to be jealous, but simply OBSERVANT! Find me other pianists who feel that they have to grin all the way through a performance in order to "connect" with their audiences. Some day, when this pianist's boyish face becomes less cute, the smiles might not be enough to "get" to viewers. At that point, he'll have to adopt new strategies, most likely in the form of even more conspicuous limp and floating wrists and expressive raised elbows. Are my remarks bitchy enough?

I was never really fond of Lang Lang, mainly because of his exaggerated facial expressions. But lately i have started to ignore his facial expressions and started to actually listen to his playing, he has got such fantastic technique, and is an amazing pianist. He really feels the music and knows how to bring out each note beautifully.
