The new provision shall come into effect post March 31, 2023. During my trek, I came across multiple foreign nationals by themselves alone. The rule for a guide might not have been fully implemented I reckon! But Permit is a must to be taken. However, I checked “Nepal Tourism Board” website and here are my findings which might be useful: With the new provision, all trekkers are required to obtain services of licensed trekking guide and to obtain TIMS Card through authorized trekking agencies registered with the Government of Nepal.
