You know, I thought I was going to get mad when he picked out the yellow one instead of red but then I realized that it was the perfect decision. I hate love stories where they immediately fall in love and just know everything and don't take much into consideration. countless battles For me, it’s several things. Firstly, it’s a pun on “earnest”, or being genuine and honest, which is a great ironic name for our little lying snake. Secondly, it’s a reference to “The Importance of Being Earnest”, a play by Oscar Wilde about these two guys who lie about their identities for different reasons. It’s my preferred headcanon name for Dee, also because I’m not a super fan of most other common headcanons for personal reasons.
