If language barrier then I would suggest show them pictures of cucumber, tomato, bread and other items to communicate. This is how I teach my Toddler. Sometimes you don't language and use our 4 senses Smell, See, Speak and touch.

Excellent vlog & nice to see the terrain of Angola. You are the one & only KZbinr who has covered the African continent on a bike systematically and thoroughly. You educated many who do not know Africa. Those of us who were born and raised in Africa you brought back memories and also showed some countries we have not been to like Angola. Your vlogs are unique. That gentleman was talking about sunset. Sun in Portuguese is Sol. Google translation is quick & easy. Instead of saying thank you if you say Obrigada they will be so happy that you know their lingua. Little things make them happy from my personal experience while travelling.
