there are 2 things I dont understand. Is 老家 in this text 2 words (meaning a house that is old) or is it 1 word (hometown/native place). And I have the same question about 长年, is it 2 words (meaning a year that is long/years that are long) or is it 1 word meaning year-round?

老家 native place or old home 长年 all the year round

@@LanguageEndeavor I see. I was confused because u wrote the pinyin of laojia together but wrote changnian separated. so its both together right? (and yes I know that separable words are not written together, but its not the case of changnian I suppose)
