Get to know Tampere: Uittotunneli log floating tunnel, Onkiniemi & Santalahti. On this series we'll show you around our home town Tampere - the best city in Finland! On this first episode we'll take you to see Pispalan Uittotunneli log floating tunnel that runs from Lake Pyhä to Lake Näsi. On our way there we'll walk through the beautiful and interesting Onkiniemi and Santalahti, which is a new event park near the city center of Tampere. We'll also try treats at Uittotunnelin Kahvila, which is a cafe located by the tunnel.

Hello, you have made many films of Tampere.I don't know what it is about Tampere that interests me so much.It is my favourite city in Finland. Why, I don't know, because Helsinki is beautiful too. Maybe it was Marja-Liisa, a Finnish woman I met near Tampere in 1971 and fell in love with. Maybe I've written to you before? Marja-Liisa implanted a virus in me, not the Corona virus but the Tampere virus. I liked her very much and after almost 50 years I saw her again in Tampere and she showed me a part of this city, I wanted to see the rest of Tampere this year but I couldn't because of the virus.So I decided to see the rest of Tampere in 2021.I will watch your films but these are films - I want to see the original Tampere.Feel the pavement under my shoes ,breathe the air and hear the Finnish language.
