This is all VERY recent. The main issue is the lag. If the lag wasn't as bad as it is right now they wouldn't be quitting. The stale meta has been a thing forever. Just hope Niantic fixes the lag issue quickly

I hate this cup. I wanted a cup where cloyster, starmie, kabutops, etc were viable. Like starmie to me with quick attack and it's moveset is fun. Kabutops glass cannon but fun to use. Wondering why tentacruel isn't used at all this fossil cup?

To be completely honest I believe the game went sought after the Silph Road was taking down by Niantic... I really love the way they did Cups like for example a cup that will look like the Fossil Cup they will do it the same way, but they will add restrictions base on what they know the as called 10 mons in this meta will be restricted from play... these forces players to think outside the box am made the game play amazing! Another thing they use to do ( I believe it was crazy good) doing so called Regianls, Continentals Championship, End Of Season Worl Championships... there use a Point system of 20 points to build teams! one could not pass 20 points Example Azu will be 5 points, Lanturn will be 10 points, am so on! it was amazing it force players to really strategies their teams! I would like for Niantic to us the same system, but they are not here to make things fun... they are here for the money! LOL LOL I didnt play season i dont think i will... the lag was bad for me last season so there you go! As for content creators leaving the game... it is what it is if One Can Not Enjoy The Game Anymore Well They Are Other Games To Play! Still let us not confuse making a living from this to have fun am show the experience!

we lost a good amount of content creators along the way. e.g. Wallower quit 2y ago when the state of bugs was worse (fast move denial, 3d shields...) but the lag was not as bad as today. On another platform, the pvpers I follow on twitch are way less active than last years, and noone replaced them, probably because of lack of viewers. ItsAXN recently posted the "please fix pvp" video, and the next update gave us the impression that the lag was fixed. I don't know what went wrong but now we are almost at the same level of lag as before. It's like a toxic relationship.

To be fair, what game can someone play for 6+ years that doesn’t get stale? You make a lot of valid points, however as a player for about 1 year now, I’m having a blast. Learning to battle and finding good pokemon to use, and slowly but surely climbing higher and higher. Also building good raid teams to duo with a friend, I’m having a fun time. As a lifelong gamer, I’ve never played a game that didn’t get somewhat stale come the ‘end game’.

We're going to need HUGE meta change in September to make it worth-while. Like, way bigger than is possible. Fossil Cup is silly; There's too few options, and nothing new to the meta. That being said, it's the TINY straw that broke the back of the camel that is holding thousands of starws. IMO, there isn't a way forward. It's too late. It's not just GBL. Ultra is still the same. Defend against Giratina, but don't run it or you'll get hard-countered. Master gets a slight shakeup when new Pokemon are released, but we're still using the same 20 core Pokemon. In my opinion, we need a shakeup way beyond a meta flip. Rebalancing a few moves, a random community day, it's not enough. We need a couple new formats, at a minimum, if not a complete rework. I want to benefit from the work I put in without seeing the same darn matchups. That isn't going to happen. I don't even know what a good solution would look like. I'd say a fresh start at PVP, but it's way too late. Not even I would join. I often bait, even when I know it's wrong, just because I don't want to replay the exact same 40 seconds of my life again. I'd rather lose than walk through another limited meta. Open GBL is better than other formats because there's so many options. But it's been 8 years since the game's release, even that isn't close to enough variance. I'd rather go back to Gameboy Pokemon, like Red & Blue, than kill another Azumaril with a flimsy grass-type. TLDR: I think Pokemon Go is going to fade away, there has been far too much mediocrity to come back from. It's too late.

I want the cool looking outfits from gbl. That’s really it. I like achieving hard to get gear in games. Shows status(strong gamer/ some one you want on your team). Only ever hit veteran and at this point gbl is just an avenue for resources now. With lag, hard counter, stale gameplay. It’s just for the dust and rare candy now.

I didn't realize poli was meta lol I just put it on my team because it's a obviously choice water with fighting is a power typing if paired with correct teammates..I'm using scald and dynamic punch plus bubble I believe for fast ..paired with skarmony and quag safe

Sunk cost fallacy is real! Global Go Fest broke me, I had such a terrible time. After that I decided I’d alter my relationship with the game. Didn’t battle for 3 weeks, didn’t engage with any video/stream content (sorry!) I’m back now because I am seemingly the one person that enjoys Fossil Cup. But going forward I’m going to pick & choose when I play a lot more. Your content is the best, so I hope you stick around but I completely understand you wanting to pull back - as I am doing so myself!

The lag and bugs are unacceptable. But honestly, your rant is all over the place. You're mostly referencing PVE content creators, whom burn themselves out since they have grinded several hours, daily, for years. while discussing the state of GBL. These are completely unrelated to your own issues. I have no idea why you are even expecting a huge shake up in the meta right now, other than a few moves being added. Huge shake ups usually happen when something is extremely OP, which is not they case for this meta. And other than them removing a few boring cups, do you think adding an elemental punch to some pokemon will make the game fresh or different? You can make up any scenarios regarding shake ups, in terms of movesets and nerfs/buffs, and none of them will change how you play this game. It just seems that you are personally frustrated, which makes you play worse and results in you being more frustrated.

I know you've talked about the issues surrounding Master League accessibility (it can be fun until you start approaching 2500 ELO, when everyone has maxed hundos only, for the most part) but what are your complaints with Ultra League? For me that has become my favorite league (in part because it is where my team performs the best) but I'm surprised given how (I agree) AWFUL these super-limited format Great Leagues are that you haven't run Ultra sets. I feel like you see a cool blend of Legendaries/Non-legendaries, some Great League holdovers that need maxed hundo versions (Lanturn, Pidgeot, etc.), and more options in terms of viable movesets for coverage, so even when you see the same Pokemon, there's still some unpredictability/freedom for creative lines from both sides. Curious to hear your thoughts on Ultra League!

What a terrible shame that this a special cup but this is basically an open GL team because they're incompetent at banning open meta mons in special cups. I'm gonna stick to a little bit of off meta and see how I go cos it's actually fun, if I don't reach legend so be it 🤷🏻‍♂️
