The bookmark was there probably because Lan Zhan was checking back to makesure if Wei Ying actually understood or not what the head band meant for the men of Gusu, probably did that after Wei Ying ripped it off during the competition. So he found out that Wwx didn't exactly understand so he corrected what was wrong and write down what it actually meant there and bookmarked it with the flower Wwx gave him. I saw another video saying that Lan Zhan already had feelings for Wwx at the time and might thought that Wwx was confessing..., in the novel he kissed blind folded Wwx after that 😅

I like that the donghua team added this particular detail! This is original donghua scene I think, because I don't remember the novel includes that Lan Zhan kept Wei Ying's punishment scripts. Yep, you're right! The donghua included some more details like this! Like the toys and stuff that Lan Zhan kept in his sleeve during one of the latest episodes. In the novel, the only thing he did keep, if I remember correctly, was: the emperor's smile (technically), a flute, the purse technically made by MianMian, and the flower as a reading sign.

In the extras, there’s one part where Wei Ying finds some of Lan Zhan’s old notes-one of them included LZ making mistakes in his writing because it was made during the time that he was monitoring WWX’s punishment in the Library👀👀👀 I think it was during the “Banquet” extra chapters, or “From Dawn to Dusk”. They probably got the idea from there

It's the peony Lan Zhan took away from Wei Ying after he kissed him (he blindfolded Wei Ying and Wei Ying thought it was a super strong shy girl) at a hunt tournament. The peony was thrown during the tournament opening by Jiang Yanli (or is it some other girls?) to Jiang clan disciples who took part on behalf of the clan. Lan Zhan took away anything girls gave Wei Ying, like the money pouch. That was Mian Mian's fragrant pouch, Wei Ying took it from her after teasing her during the Wen Clan's "camp". After killing Xuanwu (the monster tortoise), Wei Ying used the herbs inside the pouch for their injuries, had a fever and Lan Zhan sang Wangxian (their love song!), and stole the pouch from Wei Ying while he was unconscious! Wei Ying didn't remember since he didn't think anything about Mian Mian, but Lan Zhan was jealous! It might already be TMI, but yeah, I hope I answered your question about the peony.

The peony is a gift from Wei Ying to Lan Zhan. In ch71 of the novel LZ went to Yunmeng and there he met with WY. I recommend you to read the part of their meeting :). I've read some meanings of the pink peony and one of them which seems fitting is that it represents love at first sight. In the novel it was never stated what type of flower Yanli threw at WWX. Whereas it is both mentioned in chapters 65 (the one where WWX sees the flower bookmark) and 71 that is a herb peony. I think the type of flower being mentioned in both chapters says it all.
