Please let me know about Prince and Princess brief
@denseone2 ай бұрын
Prince Pichai, a prince of Siam, and Princess Chomchuen, a princess of Lanna, met when the prince was sent as part of an expedition to modernize Siam’s silk industry. The two fell in love through a shared love of music, and the prince made formal requests to the courts of Lanna and Bangkok for her hand. Both courts denied his requests, and shortly after, orders from Bangkok commanded him to relocate to the Northeast to strengthen ties with Lao principalities and to distance the prince from the princess. He left Chiang Mai at 21, composing the tune and words in loving memory of the woman he loved, and would play the song whenever he missed her. She was married off soon after. He died of a broken heart six years later, and upon learning of his passing, the princess lost the will to live, and passed away less than a year after the prince. They were 27 and 23. The tune has since become an homage to true love and a folk song shared among the Thai and Lao peoples. A Thai song infused with Lao accents, and the delicate tones of Lanna.
