Pi Nong Tai Khamti or Tai Phake has been in Assam India longer than the 17th century. The Tai Royalty ruled that region for more than 600 years until the British over thru them.

That was the first thing he said in the video. The Ahom went to rule Assam in 1228 until 1826.

The homeland of Lao people is north of Vietnam, up to Kunming, all the way to Chongqing/Sichuan, down towards Hong Kong, pretty much all the lands south of the Yangtze is where Lao people lived, Chinese invasion across the Yangtze forced many of our ppl into Yunnan or in the region around Kunming Yunnan, eventually we started to settle into Southeast Asia by the 9th century, but there were already Lao people there but not United. The prince who brought his people from Kunming United the people and established the first principality in northwest Vietnam, 400 years before Sukothai, they later settled Northern Laos and eventually started to migrate into Thailand from Northern Laos. Thai people Didn’t come from China, they came from Northern Laos, only the Lao people came straight from China. Thais are just subgroups of these Lao people. Lao share a language with the Zhuang people, we are related, in spoken Zhuang as well as in spoken Lao, Tai indicates a location, Tai is a common Zhuang prefix for place-names in Guangdong and Guangxi, the official maps published by the Ch’ing dynasty (1644-1911 AD) contain over a thousand place names with the prefix Tai, ex TaiFu, TaiLeung, TaiLum, etc... In GuangXi the original homeland of these Proto Tai people, there are more then 800 similar place names, Taiyao, Taikong, Tailueng, etc... in spoken Zhuang the meaning of this prefix Tai indicates land, local or native of. This meaning of Tai is also shared by the Lao people of Laos. Taineu meaning Native of the North, Taithea meaning native of the south, TaiMuangXi meaning local from the city of Xi. The term Tai was promoted by the Siamese to replace calling them Lao people, the older the documents are the more you see that these people’s were called Lao people

@@chung388the main answer is the rise of the Siamese Mon Chankri dynasty and the nationalist movement during the 5th reign... the propagandist Damrong (father of modern Thai history) and his Boss Chulalongkorn, the fabrication of historical documents and the immense well funded propaganda machine behind it.

@@chung388 Thai people came from Lao people, Lao people came from southern China, It’s linear. Just as most Americans came from England, and the English is formed from Welsh, Anglo and Saxon tribes,

this is a lao tai khamti was neverunder lan xang rule stop making false claim just to make your tribe superior when it isnt. tai khamti and tai ahom went to assam india way before lan xang even was created. and lan xang never reach to assam. the only kingdom to conquer assam is BURMA

He already mentioned that in the beginning of the video. The Ahom went to rule Assam in 1228 until 1826 and was not part of LanXang(1353 ).

All Tai people came from Lao people, in all ancient manuscripts they are called Lao people not Tai, The original meaning of Tai indicates a location not an ethnicity,
