Yes Laodacia reminds me of America today. We are in a hard spot as Christians living in america. We are spoiled by easy living. It is almost a curse cause it makes us think that we are ok but we are not. Without Jesus Christ we are poor, blind, naked and decieved. Jesus Christ help us, save us please.

I spent many years in drug addiction, I tried everything I could think of to fill that God size hole in me. But I believe God was/ is with me all along otherwise I would have died in my sin. God saved me, and HE IS MY ONLY HOPE!

Lord Jesus can deliver you brother in Christ. He delivered me from drug addiction and I have been free since then (around a year now). HalleluYah! He can deliver you too. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Just humble yourself before Him, ask Him and believe that He can set you free and He will!

And about "God loves everyone" and Voddie's analogy between love for a man's wife vs his love for everyone else is spot on. If I loved my wife just like I did everyone else, it'd be totally meaningless. We are NOT all God's children, unless Christ comes to adopt us first.

Two months ago, God gave me a very specific scripture concerning my life. Revelations 3 15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth. I sure got the message. And i do not only love him with every breath i take. I worship him in reverence. Anyone else think we, as humans, are put in an impossible situation? Our punishments due to actions and thoughts we never had any part of. Not knowing WHO is holy and who is not, due to Satan's being anointed. We KNOW we can't just follow the crowd. But the crowd isn't all stupid. Everyone thinks you're crazy, except you; and you're probably crazy. Like why our forefathers dismissed the apocrypha. I think THIS is the most important reason to understand the Bible. THIS is how we build discernment. But MEN made discernments in the past that may be completely wrong. Honoring my mother and father is not of help to me. I find myself in an impossible situation. Just stuck in a mission to try to find the truth.

I don't think so, unless there is deep, believing faith restored in order to repent, like Peter, who denied the Lord 3 times, but later wept bitterly, and was given 3 times to confess his love back to Jesus. Unfortunately Judas betrayed an innocent man, maybe possibly had an opportunity to repent, when he threw down the 30 pieces of silver, instead he turned and hung himself.

So long as we think we can’t lose our salvation, we will always choose to sin. We need to understand that sin brings us back into condemnation. Paul writes: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, WHO WALK NOT ACCORDING TO THE BUT ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT.” (Rom 8:1). We must walk by the Spirit, in obedience to the words of Jesus, in order to abide in Christ and remain free from condemnation.
@ellenyearick1039
@ellenyearick1039 Ай бұрын
Romans 8 ain't the entire Bible. You are misunderstanding this text. Your MISunderstanding of it contradicts many other texts that plainly teach = WE CAN NOT LOSE GOD's SALVATION ONCE WE HAVE IT. >>>SEE John 3:14-16. Twice that text says God gave ETERNAL LIFE to those who believed UPON their initial belief. If we lose it by sinning >> IT WAS NOT ETERNAL, IT WAS ONLY UNTIL THE NEXT OCCASION OF MY SINNING. & that would prove God's word in John 3 to be false. In case someone's translation says there = "eternal life" in 1 verse & "everlasting life" in the other, you can find in a Greek lexicon that those 2 English words chosen by the translators are 1 & the same Greek word in the original document.
@JesusSaves-l8h
@JesusSaves-l8h Ай бұрын
@@ellenyearick1039 Sister, everything we have in Christ comes free with the gift of the Holy Spirit, including eternal life. However, the Holy Spirit is like a garment, and just like a garment, we have to put on the Holy Spirit to partake of the Spirit; we have to put on Christ in order for the things of Christ to apply to us. This is why we are told to “put on the New Man”, to “put on Christ”. We are also told to “walk in Him”, to “walk by the Spirit”. This is why, in John 3, John the Baptist says, “Whoever believes in the Son has everlasting life, but he who does not OBEY the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36). Yes, the life is eternal (the Holy Spirit cannot die), but if we are not abiding in Christ by walking according to the Spirit, we will not see eternal life. As Jesus says in John 15:1-2, “Every branch IN ME that does not BEAR FRUIT, He [the Father] REMOVES…” OSAS is not found in scripture. All those scriptures which tell us that works cannot save us are referring to good works which are of the flesh (i.e. works done in the absence of faith). All those scriptures that say that works are necessary for salvation are referring to the works of the Spirit. We must rightly divide the word of truth. God bless ✝️🙏

This pastor has a strong and interesting message for the present church. Nevertheless I don’t agree with the statement that God doesn’t love everyone. There are a plenty of verses that testify that, starting from John 3:16 and others like “I don’t want the wicked to die but I want him to repent and live”, “God loved us when we where sinners”, etc. This pastor’s statement seems to be Calvinist.

I’m grateful music is quieter but my issue remains two-fold. As a church sharing the Gospel preached by one of its pastors, should you not know above all that there is NOTHING man can add to a sermon that benefits man? Music, moving images. PLEASE stop with the music and go back to your prior format. One still picture with the sermon title and drop the background music. True followers seeking the Word do not need “add-ons” to any sermon standing on solid Biblical Doctrine. Grace Baptist staff should know this above all.

What about the ones who do need it? That's the problem with the church today. Most want folks to come day 1 to church or to christ as if they have years into being reborn! You come needed everything possible to pull you away from the enemy. So if the music and video help bring someone to the kingdom, let it be!

I so appreciate Voddie, BUT "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." If the argument is God doesn't call us to go to him because then we could be prideful about going to him, what does he do about the fact that the verse actually says hear my voice and open the door? If the issue is that we can't do anything, what does he do with those two things? We still have to hear his voice and we still have to open the door. Obviously it's not a cut and dry issue of "we can't do anything or it would make us prideful." We have to understand our place in this and that we are not the initiators or in charge of anything. But we do have to submit. And if we make that a prideful thing, then that's just one more thing that God has to deal with in our walk.

We cant even hear God without a gift to hear. We cant open the door without a gift to enable us to even want to open it. Its ALL a gift from the Lord. This message is confusing. We all know that for God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son. It does not say for God so loved a few that only a few can be welcomed with the salvation through the blood of the lamb. Also, Christ Jesus says All who repent, love the Father with All your heart and Soul shall be saves, followed distinctly by loving they neighbor and praying for your enemies. This is one reason I stopped listening solely to Voddie as much, in addition to that many are the same sermon with a differnt title. Need more scripture and encouragement on how to discern for myself not because someone said so and some meat with the potatoes. Highly recommend Above Reproach Ministries. Supports more on living Christ like, using the old testament as descriptive with new as prescriptive - that which is repeated in the new remains in command. Voddie is great, just want more Sheparding. Thanks for listening, may Elohim bless you all, cover you with great Yeshua, and lead your way with the Lantern Spirit.

🚩Voddie either doesn't know the God of the Bible, who loves the wicked (to the point of desiring their Salvation) or he is wantedly suppressing the truth & deceiving people. 💥Ezekiel 33:11💥 "Say to them, AS I LIVE, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"

Excellent ser.on with one big mistake. Phileo and Agape aren't used interchangeably by John or ANY other Greek writers. Neither does agape mean the love of God. To understand this you would first have to learn how to think in clear categories which is similar to using venndiagrams. Phileo and agape are separate sts which share some elements. Demos the coppersmith agape the world. Agape is what one loves the most. That can but not necessarily mean a friend (phileo) or an Eros ofmr a fourth Greek word for love which never appears in Scripture. This one criticism is not to besmirch this excellent sermon. One can criticize the gnat and admire the camel. This self taught layman continues astonished at how even truly great pastors fail to understand basic thinking skills and Greek. I shall miss John McArthur as he steps down for health reasons. The vest teaching pastor this century, much better than even RC Sproul though he is good.

Why did he skip the response Jesus is calling for in verse 20? His explanation makes perfect sense except for “IF ANYONE HEARS MY VOICE AND OPENS THE DOOR”. Could it be that this response stands in the way of your theology?

@@kevinruggerio1796 he read it and completely ignored what it said and decided to emphasize the instructions before and after. Whether this verse is evangelistic or whether it’s simply calling a son to repentance (which creates an even bigger theological problem) it is still only qualified by a response. IF anyone hears my voice AND opens the door… There is both sovereignty AND responsibility in this verse. I love Voddie and his teaching but Voddie didn’t die for my sins and Voddie isn’t infallible. I think he’s guilty of seeing this through a Calvinistic lens because that’s where he’s planted his flag. Instead, each of us should be trying to reconcile scripture with itself. Not with our doctrinal statements.

Really unfortunate that pastors will twist & tweak the scriptures to mean something else to fit their own wicked minds. Those who advocate unconditional eternal security do not like those letters to the churches because of the warning of judgement placed upon them. But in this preacher’s mind, it only has to do with a spanking from God but they still go to heaven. Nay. Just as Jesus says “unless ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.” To one church He writes, “repent or I will spew thee out of my mouth”. That’s not merely a chastisement, that is a warning of eternal judgement.

@@JudahGibbs-eh1lh the Bible's overarching narrative is that the devil is our father, and God had compassion and gave us the option to adopt into His family. He loves all His children, but not everyone is His child, though everyone has the chance. Many are called, few are chosen.

I'm neither paedo nor credobaptist as Scripture is NOT clear. Voddie shouldn't be shooting his brothers the credobaptists. This is no time for a circular firing squad. This verse has NOTHING to do with baptism of babies one way or another. This is the low point of this sermon. Voddie should apologize to MANY men who handle Scripture well. There's an arrogance among Reformed credobaptists that is quite ugly. Of course we have equivalent stupidity among sone credobaptists. As an chronibaptist, I facepalm in my solitude.
