I've always loved this scene for how unknowingly mean Jamie is to Laoghaire. He's just so oblivious compared to how much of his attention is on Claire. I guess when Claire is around any other woman is just a blurry shape to him.

As much as I hate Laoghaire in general, but honestly both Jamie and Claire made mistakes regarding her. Jamie should not have made out with her knowing he loved Claire and he should have told her right away that he wanted to marry Claire instead of saying he was forced into it, fuelling Laoghaire's delusions. And Claire should never have trusted her again and forced Jamie to "thank" Laoghaire in Castle Lovatt. Here in this scene it shows that Laoghaire knew that Jamie was not interested in her and seemed to accept that - everything that happened afterwards could have been avoided if they left her alone.

Valid, I agree. It annoyed me that Jamie told Laoghaire his wedding was "Dougal's arrangement". He should have been more straight up that he was happy with his choice to marry Claire and left it at that.

Oder auch nicht. Ich meine in Ruhe lassen. Wir wissen alle, daß sie von Jamie besessen war. Was hat sie zu Claire gesagt, Jamie gehört mir!!! Das sagt schon alles. Sicher hätte er ehrlich antworten sollen, das die Hochzeit für ihn gewollt war, nicht erzwungen. Aber ich denke trotzdem, daß Laoghaire eine Falle für Claire gestellt hätte. 🤔💯👌👍

@@heikethielcke8910 Besessen war sie auf jeden Fall. Aber war es ja nun nicht komplett unbegründet, wenn Jamie erstmal mit ihr rumknutscht und rummacht und sie dann mit den Worten "ich hatte leider keine andere Wahl" nach der Hochzeit mit Claire vertröstet. Es war einfach dumm von ihm (er war ja selber noch sehr jung). Die Serie hat meiner Meinung nach die story mit Laoghaire verhunzt, weil hier erstens klar war, dass Jamie wusste, dass Laoghaire Claire auf den Scheiterhaufen bringen wollte und seine Heirat mit ihr damit begründet wird, dass Claire ihn ja (total naiv) gebeten hat Laoghaire zu "danken", also sie ihr scheinbar verziehen hatte. Claire's Haltung Laoghaire gegenüber wird dadurch total undeutlich - wohl um Jamies Heirat mit Laoghaire weiter zu entschuldigen, denn in den Büchern hat her ja Null Ahnung, dass Laoghaire Claire umbringen lassen wollte. Ich denke eben, dass sowohl Jamie als auch Claire Laoghaires Besessenheit noch Wind und Auftrieb gegeben haben, weil beide zu naiv waren zu sehen, was für eine Person sie ist und wie weit sie gehen würde.

Ja am Anfang hat sie mir auch leid getan aber als Jamie und Claire dann zusammengekommen sind und die dann angefangen hat die als Hexe zu beschuldigen da wars rum .. sie ist echt unsymphatisch aber ihre Tochter ist dafür mega :)

@@21stellaluna Ja leider ist alles auf Englisch und dessen bin ich fast garnicht geschult. Aber die meisten Szenen erkennt man auch ohne Sprachkenntnisse. Ich bin aber hauptsächlich der Buchfan denn die Serie ist so sehr abweichend vom Buch. Aber die Schauspieler sind klasse. Liebe Grüße

No me gustan los pequeños detalles que añadieron a la historia de Laoghaire en la serie 😢 en el libro Jamie estaba locamente enamorado de Claire Y solo tenía ojos para Claire, veía a Laoghaire como una niña tonta y nunca se entera de lo despreciable que era hasta 23 años después. En la serie desde el principio dan a entender que Jamie le daba entrada a Laoghaire como teniéndola de segunda opción y dándole esperanzas, el Jamie del libro nunca se hubiera casado con ella si hubiera sabido desde antes todo lo que hizo sufrir a Claire, en la serie Jamie lo sabe todo y aún así se casa con ella 😢😢 odio a Laoghaire ojalá se hubieran apegado a la versión del libro en ese sentido

Jamie was using Laoghaire by kissing her in front of Claire (which he was very pleased in doing so), and think he defended Laoghaire (which was very chivalrous) as he was also weighing his options (which may reflect his misdirecting answer to Laoghaire in saying it was an arrangement, but promise we'll speak again...a bit young and stupid)
