Wow! we did the Thakhek loop one year ago and it seems a bit different already! It's been developing, i can tell. Agree, that whole area can rival with Vang Vieng and with those amazing landscapes are a perfect destination for families, couples, friends and even solo travellers! i just hope it doesn't become too much "party place". keep the calm and respect the nature!

The Third Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge has changed Nakhon Phanom so Thakkeh will surely grow into a tourist location. With the airport at Nakhon Phanom it is very easy to get there from Thailand.Scheduling a trip soon.

Most they can do is burn it. There is no sanitation companies unless you visit the big three cities - Vientuane, Luang Prabang, and Pakse. Only thing I have seen is recycling the of Beer Laos bottles when I visited Savannakhet.

These third world countries don't have the education about pollution. Here in the USA, we are taught to take care of our planet. It is our duty to teach these poor countries that rubbish is not good for the environment and tourism.
