Great video, in fact the best I've seen on touring through Laos. You captured the essence of the place, the people, and the riding perfectly.

I love riding and traveling. Just haven't put them together. Will soon, looks like so much fun. Like how you just stop and enjoy hanging out with the locals.

Great video Andy! I was born in Laos and a couple years ago a group of my friend’s and I rode through the west and NW of Laos. I wish we had documented our ride like you did in this video. My goal is to take my 80 yr old father back and have him follow in a chase truck while I ride to where he was born, NE Laos near the Vietnam border. Let me know if you’d like to do another video and come with us! Your Lao is pretty good. You must have lived in the area or travel there a lot. Glad to see it.

Andy, great video! This is my second time watching it. I am planning to try living in Thailand for a few months, and as a lifetime motorcyclist myself, your video gave me a huge inspiration to try this route myself. I do have few short questions if you don't mind: 1. I am planning to purchase a motorcycle in Bangkok and start a 1-2 months motorcycle journey to as many countries in South East Asia as possible, but, I do prefer a 650cc like Kawasaki ER6, do you think it might be a bit much for Laos back/mountain roads? 2. Do you think it might be a bit dangerous to travel a part of this trip alone? or, do you know where I can find motorcycle traveling mates online (Most of my friends are married with kids, and are as far as it can be from these kind of adventures) ? Greeting from Miami FL, Charlie.

Hey Andy, Like MotoSouk(below) this my second time watching your video, and probably not the last. First off, taking pics is never(almost) a waste of time. As a photographer it's what brings me great joy, especially in Asia. I will be turning 61 the 29th of Dec. of this year. On the 30th I plan to fly from Sea-Tac to HCMC and begin a year long adventure through SE Asia. Going nice and slow and taking lots of pics! Not a waste.....we'll call it Todd time if u will. Two questions.....I plan one buying a dual sport 250. Hopefully a pretty good one for around 1K. I've heard that a large majority of the bikes are in Hanoi while HCMC has considerably less. In your opinion should I fly into Hanoi, buy my motorcycle and then take a train, with my motorcycle, down to HCMC? 2nd question, from HCMC which way would go north? There are some many options, the only caveat is that I want to end up in Vientiane.......then north up Laos. Thanx, Todd

I have riden from vientiene up to luang Prabang with my wife . Its worth mentioning that Terrorist shot 6 people on the road about 2 months ago. One of them on a Motorbike. In the Mountains you see guards with Kalashnikov machine guns to defend against Terrorist attacks. We were advised not to go past Luang Prabang and to hide some money , cards Passports incase we get robbed. Groups are probably safer. I also got chronic diahorea from eating roadside food that wasn't cooked properly.

Can we rent or buy a motorcycle Thank you for your videos
@passpato18 жыл бұрын
+fati bazi You can rent Honda CRF 250s in Vientiene. Best shop is Faurks rental. Around £35 a day. Others are a bit cheaper but not as well maintained. Believe me Faurk is THE man in Vientiene.

what dose Baha means?
@passpato18 жыл бұрын
+fati bazi You probably mean Baja (Pronounced Baha by some) its a Honda 250 Baja motorcycle. You can rent them in Laos. The Honda CRF is more popular now.
