You inspired us. We just got back from a trip to Bangkok, Hanoi and Tokyo. Not as adventurous as Laos, but we are easing into international travel to make up for lost time.

@Growingupinthe80s Visit this place soon before the Chinese investment and development ruins Vang Vieng for good. None of these concrete buildings, roads along the river front, multi-storey hotels and high speed trains were here last time I visited. The $4trillion Chinese Road and Belt initiative is decimating these beautiful towns and cities-checkout what they’ve done to Sihanoukville-Vang Vieng is on the same path to being another Chinese Casino colony.

How cool is Vang Vieng hey! The orange pedistrian bridge was washed away when it flooded last year. Yes.. the water was that high. Safe travels guys

We were lucky to get them the day of, if you want to avoid a lot of stress, you'll want to buy the tickets in advance. You can't buy them online though so you'll have to go to the station and wait in line.
