Yep. I'm betting that if the rail got fed into the shredder enough times, the smaller surviving chunk of rail would eventually reach a stalemate with the shredder because the teeth would be too wrecked to do any further damage. It wouldn't be worth it to take it that far.

Interesting the Cement truck Barrel reminded me of a Beach Ball riding the Swells of a Ocean just prior to where the waves are Crashing ! i grew up inFlorida and i was a Surfer for many years so that part of the Ocean has always fascinated me as that’s where Surfers “LineUp” to pick the perfect Wave to ride on using your Board A Beach Ball will just calmly ride out that area by rotating on top of the Surface almost Indefinitely unless the Wind moves it around

Im not sure where that train track came from, but in America, you wouldn't be able to pick that up and twirl it around with one hand like that. They must use aluminum for trains overseas.

Small machine, we tip at recycling lives in Preston. They have a massive shreader that takes whole cars and large metal beams without any problems. They process about 60 tons a day, chipped then put into containers for shipping.

Most of the shredders like the one you mention and that are used by autorecyclers are of a different design. They rotate sets of free hanging hammers (each hammer usually weighing 400 - 1250 lbs) that are fastened at their inner end to heavy round plates that spin at least several hundred times a minute. There's one of these, a rotary hammermill, at a steel/slag dump on lake Michigan with a set of 2200 lb hammers. Imagine those hammers spinning in a 10 ft diameter circle several hundred times a minute?

Yeah, I caught that too. I have a piece of rail and its very heavy.
@Royale_with_Cheeze5 ай бұрын
That rail track piece shows the difference between steel and aluminum. When whole car engines are shredded, they break apart easily. That's not real steel. Aluminum parts in cars have made them so much more lightweight.
