The animal has a really healthy coat so it's obvious the owner takes really good care of it. In fact, that is one Capybara who doesn't have to worry about becoming an Anaconda's next meal.

***** You can read about them on my blog but a quick answer to your questions follows. I don't know that "loyal" applies to a capybara. They are affectionate and trusting, but they are not going to protect you from dangers. They will stay with you rather than going with anyone else. They get along with virtually every time of animal. The only exception is when there is a huge size difference either way, it is dangerous. I heard of one who had been attacked by a dog and ever after was aggressive toward dogs. Mine have never had any problems with using a water bowl as a toilet. This is not true for all capybaras.

***** Oh thanks, I guess it's sort of like owning a cross between a rabbit, rat, and chicken but leaning towards the rat side the most. But I've seen domesticated and well trained rats that were just mind-blowinglly clever and friendly, and even a pigeon or two too. And someone I knew in Australia had a Kangaroo for a pet and said they're very smart, sort of like apes and above cats and dogs.

Many capybaras can be litter box trained, but not all. Many prefer a bowl of shallow water which can then be dumped in the toilet.

They can bite and their teeth are razor sharp. Generally they are docile but I wouldn't keep one around small children. Garibaldi doesn't gnaw on things now that he is not a baby, he did cut a few cords in his capy-kittenhood. He occasionally chews on blankets or sheets. He gets most of the wear on his teeth the natural way, by eating grass, which is quite abrasive.
