Hey shahil, write off doesn't mean that companies doesn't have to pay the loan, you are wrong. That's called waived off. Banks just don't mentioned them in their balancesheet. Once they repay the loan, it goes into the profit section of banks.

First know the difference between write off and waive off. Waive off means loan end even for future. But write-off means loan is cleared from books but it's still eligible to be recovered via selling assests so it's given to bad bank to recover loan..

Write off means the loss will not reflect on Banks' balance sheet. Recovering process will be started as per insolvency and bankruptcy law. Where wave off means borrower need not to return the money.
