I love how you can see how this version and the final version have the same overarching theme of ‘what makes someone truly a bad person?’ but this version conveys that through the example of people who do “bad” things but only for reasons that they truly believe are justified or do ultimately ‘good’ things but for the complete wrong reason or people who do things that make them happy regardless of how ‘bad’ it makes them in society’s eyes it keeps them content whereas the final version is based on the Laplace’s Demon thought experiment where’s basically if there was a being that knew every location of every particle and all of the forces acting on them than theoretically that being would be able to know past, present, and future based off of only one moment in time so that suggests that every atom in the universe is on a predetermined path from the moment of it’s existence and everything we ‘experience’ is just a bunch of stuff flying around the universe and it has been since the beginning of time so is someone truly a bad person if everything is predetermined and free will kinda doesn’t exist in a sense there’s definitely more to be said about this song that i could go on a rant on for hours but i just thought it was cool seeing how the premise of the song adapted (also if u read that whole thing thank you im so passionate about the meaning of songs and dissecting the individual lyrics so u reading this makes u my automatic favorite person ever)
