This could be a sign of wide gamut of issues. First of all, does the motherboard make any beeping sounds? Does the LCD screen flash for a second or just stays black all the time?

@@Laptopnuts i have the same issue as described. Powering on the ltop lights up the backlight on the keyboard, but nothing on the monitor, no beeping or any other noises. Tried resetting internal battery by using pinhole. Tried unplugging the battering and powering up straight to the power source. Is it motherboard issue at this point?

My computer with W10 installed shuts off due to either sleep or some other timer (I think), and the only way to get it back on is hold the power button for 8 to 10 seconds. Then release, wait and press again. This works reliably. I do not have a keyboard that "flashes" though. I tried a few "fixes" described online but have not eliminated the symptoms entirely.

I have a situation: I had to remove the screen 'cause the right hinge broke, so when I reassembled and started up I realize wifi connection fails. I tried to remove wifi card, but the screw got stripped. What could it be the problem for wifi connection?

Yes you can install an SSD on a 575.

The screws holding the heat sink are stripped. If I remove them what size screw do I need to replace them with? Is it m1 or m2?

Those are special screws that usually only sold with the heatsink, most likely are m2.

Any idea how to fix my issue of where the trackpad won't click when turned on, and like 50% of the letters on the keyboard won't register. When I disassembled, and tried to press the trackpad, it actually clicks, but after I seat everything in place and put the cover back on to test it, it doesn't. Which cable could be loose or part pressing on the ribbon to cause this?

it is unfortunately possible (as in my case) that your dvd/cd drive is just a piece of cheap plastic that acer put there in place of an actual drive. use a box cutter like in this video to pry the drive open and see if it is indeed a piece of plastic. very stupid if you ask me

Hi there! Unfortunately this one as most casual modern laptops is soldered to the mobo. It's possible to solder the better one, but you will need the microchip soldering machine.

Do you have ideas on how to repair the hinge assemblies where the mounts for the brackets (the places where the screws connect) are damaged ? - On one side it's damage is on the "base" - same part as the board -- and on the other side the place where it connects to the screen housing... Or would it be "easier" to replace the entire base and screen housing? Ideas on where to buy those items would be helpful.. .and yes, it is a 2 year old Acer E15G that I dropped about 3 weeks into owning it.. it has finally deteriorated to the point where the top will barely open... very stiff which may be why some of the mounting has broken (besides the dropping)... I don't know about an E15G, but I just did this job on my 575/576. I like you had damage from dropping that then got worse in continued use. This damaged both the lid behind the LCD, as well as the palmrest. I found these on Ebay, about $60 US each. Expensive lesson. I saw no way to repair the shattered plastic, which is very thin. Best to replace, and not abuse in the future.

Mine's display flickered and disappeared completely. Even after restarting the display won't come on. Before when moving the laptop while on the display sometimes flicker. Attaching an external monitor still has display. What's the problem? Loose cable?

The keyboard in these is plastic riveted to the palmrest. I believe only the touchpad can be removed easily. You can cut off the rivets in the middle, and pry carefully up around the edges. Then use epoxy and clamps to reinstall. Probably better to just buy a new palmrest.

Make sure you have connected the antenna wires, without them WiFi doesn't work.

I don't believe that is possible with the laptop model in this video because the keyboard is riveted to the palmrest. You would have to cut the rivets and reattach with epoxy.

So I just took mine apart to give it a little clean and reassembled it. But now it will only power on while I have the power cord inserted. If I pull the cord out the computer shuts down. Did I forget to connect something or connect something incorrectly? Please help! Lol

Make sure the battery is connected. Also you could have shorted the battery. Have you used plastic tools for disassembly?
