Thank you!! I spent two hours on the phone with assurion last night they couldn't figure it out and said I had to pay them another $100 and send the computer in. I did the power off you recommended and when it came back on I pushed the F6 and my screen came back on!!! Thank you so much!!

6:59 - BIOS is an acronym for "Basic Input Output System". Basically, computers have a small hardcoded (in a chip) Operating System that knows how to turn on, and communicate with, and configure the hardware of a computer. Once the BIOS boots up, it hands over control to the real Operating System (Windows/Linux/whatever). The BIOS is generally stored on a CMOS chip. So sometimes people will call it the CMOS. Clearing the CMOS is the same as resetting the BIOS, which brings the BIOS back to default factory settings.

I am curious for people who want to comment, on a scale of one being mildly upset and 10 being about to scream, when your computer did this just how upset were you at first? And if it helped, then how upset were you afterwards? Personally, I was like 09 that’ 8 because I did not have the money to replace the computer at that time and I was just panicked. Oh shit when they found out it was just the power cord and all that other stuff I did did not help at least I knew it didn’t help. So by the time I got to the store to drop the computer off, I was probably down to a seven. And it took them a couple days to figure out what was wrong with it and it was really just the power cord. And then I was back down to my normal level of nervousness

Don’t forget that if it’s never been pulled apart, you might want to pull that back off and get all the dust out of that fan area, dog hair stuff that sticks in there can make the thing overheat They say static electricity can kill him too, so you gotta think about the surface you put it on But mine caught on fire and I swear to God I don’t know how and neither does Lenovo that battery on the back so be careful I have another video on that man that was something else to experience

BTW: Since then I had my computer go dead & it turned out to be the power cord. But, the back was removed and a big chunk of dog hair & dust was plugging up the fan! So, go ahead and pull off your computer back and clean it out! Also, look up Static Electricity and how just having your laptop on your lap, the bed, blanket, couch, etc can build up that static electricity that we all feel when we touch something and get “shocked.” It can instantly fry your “motherboard” so learn about how to avoid it. 🙏

Update, Battery 🔥 Fire: bought the Lenovo IdeaPad flex March 2021, took it in for refurbishing re-upping the insurance and programs September 2023, the battery caught on fire during use, and I have another video of that I can’t express how utterly shocked I was to be sitting at my computer using it at 7:15 at night, and suddenly it started smoking from the bottom and the keys and top started melting and smoke was coming out and literally the battery caught on fire, while it was plugged in And sitting on my desk being used The good thing is, I obviously Caught the fire and took it outside, and nothing happened except the computer was utterly destroyed Staples is trying to help me work with a Assurion because I had full coverage and I have been told by a assurion that it’s an act of God and not Covered kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ7VYZaJeqyLpKMsi=swHrPfmCXyUFqm-7 Update Assurion sucks! But, Lenovo is going to replace it bcuz it shouldn’t catch fire unless water damage If it catches 🔥 you need to disconnect the battery to stop the burning

I was able to fix it by unplugging the battery from the motherboard and replugging it. You will need to open the laptop and be comfortable with handling the laptop components.

@stevebutler8126 ай бұрын
Why don’t you try a new power cord? There’s also on some computers, a secondary area where you can put an adapter to charge them up but I don’t know about your computer The one I have has two charging ports, but the court only goes into one and you can adapt the other charging port. If you bring it to a Shop, they can show you. But I would just try a different cord maybe your cords bad

@@stevebutler812 oh i think i know what ur talking about because my dog ripped my actual charger which was like a circle shape but my laptop has two holes so i started using a USB-C cord and it hasn’t been saying anything even when i tried cleaning it and everything
