Fantastic movie. I like that you didn't put any unnecessary music and the whole style of editing and recording are 10/10. Also shop is very eye pleasing, i would say calming

Absolutely first class work. I like the Arts & Crafts influence in the design, and am incredibly jealous of that plank of zebrano!

thanks so much - only scraps left now - bought that a long time ago, so glad I did, cheers

Great job. Loved the hand resaw for the veneers. Paul would be proud. Thanks for filming and sharing.

Hi Christopher, many thanks for watching and your encouragement - appreciated. Yes, I was a little daunted with the veneer resaw but in the end realized not actually so difficult as I could clean up any errors on the saw with the planing jig. I am using it quite a lot now on other projects so glad I tried it... cheers

You really made that veneer by hand. Wow, very impressive stuff overall. Inspiring for someone who has only recently got into furniture making.

My friend it turned out great. You are doing some great woodworking with no power tools. That’s the reason I liked and subscribed when I watched the jewelry cabinet build. I’m turning more to hand tools myself. Thanks for sharing this video.

Now I know you are out there!!!! Beautiful! What wood are you using for the front veneer? That grain is neat! It also wouldn't hurt to see a face....it makes you more 'real' to us out here!
@boreoff Жыл бұрын
Thanks again Tim, it is Zebrano - I bought one plank about 12 years ago - pretty difficult to plane but I really love the grain too so worth it. Yes, good point on the face...ha ha... next one! cheers

This is mesmerizing, great job! Do you have any advice from experience on how someone can start off woodworking as a hobby?
@boreoff Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much. Yes I suggest that you try making a small box out of a wood like pine. Just use simple tools like saws and chisels. Loads of stuff on YT to help you. Nothing too complicated and go from there. Good luck 😀

@@boreoff thanks for reaching back, I'll try with that

I'm not surprised to see western and Japanese tools, but I think I see a Chinese saw here?

Hi - I don’t own a Chinese saw, either American new or refurbished or made by me in that video. Thanks for watching - cheers
