Lara Fabian : "I dont believe that a language will limit an emotion. In other words, there is not a specific language to say something that comes from the heart. You can say it in Italian, indian, japanese, english, ... as long as it is sincere"

This wonderful artist and woman made me fly to Tallin to se her in concert. I flew alone...and i usually dont do things like that spontaneous. But i could not help my self. This was in 2022. She was amazing. This is not the music i listen to...but when Lara sings...i listen to anything with joy. And this song is a masterpiece. Great reaction. Thank you. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.

Her fans do that though..The voice of an angel she has❤😊

This song is incredibly beautiful the vocals of Lara Fabian are full of pain in the voice. She isn't just singing it, she's living it. I got so emotional listening to her. There are some songs in the world that make me cry, this is one of them. In addition for me Italian is some of the beautiful language for expressing deep feelings. Even spoken, Italian sound melodic to my ears. As always, good and soulful comment from you and you're right, you don't always have to understand what's the meaning of the song, you feel good music💯.

Qui dove il mare luccica Here, where the sea shines E tira forte il vento And the wind bolws hard Su una vecchia terrazza On a old terrace Davanti al golfo di Surriento In front of the Gulf of Surriento Un uomo abbraccia una ragazza A man embraces a girl Dopo che aveva pianto After she had been crying Poi si schiarisce la voce Then he clears his throat E ricomincia il canto And starts over his song. Te voglio bene assai I love you so much Ma tanto tanto bene sai So, so very much, you know È una catena ormai It's a chain, by now Che scioglie il sangue dint' 'e 'vvene sai That melts the blood inside the veins, you know. Le luci in mezzo al mare He saw the lights in the sea Pensò alle notti là in America He thought about the nights there in America Ma erano solo le lampare But they were only fishing vessels Nella bianca scia di un'elica In the white trail of a propeller Sentì il dolore nella musica He felt the pain in the music Si alzò dal pianoforte He stood up from the piano Ma quando vide la luna uscire da una nuvola But when he saw the moon getting out from a cloud Gli sembrò più dolce anche la morte He thought the death would be sweeter Guardò negli occhi la ragazza He looked in the girl's eyes Quegli occhi verdi come il mare Those eyes green as the sea Poi all'improvviso uscì una lacrima Then suddenly she shead a tear E lui credette di affogare And he believed he would drown Te voglio bene assaje I love you so much Ma tanto tanto bene sai So, so very much, you know È una catena ormai It's a chain, by now Che scioglie il sangue dint' 'e 'vvene sai That melts the blood inside the veins, you know. La potenza della lirica Power of the opera Dove ogni dramma è un falso Where every drama is a fake Che con un po' di trucco e con la mimica That with some makeup and the mime Puoi diventare un altro You can be someone else Così diventa tutto piccolo So everything gets smaller Anche le notti là in America Even the nights there in America Ti volti e vedi la tua vita You turn around and see your life Come la scia di un'elica As the trail of a propeller Te voglio bene assaje I love you so much Ma tanto tanto bene sai So, so very much, you know È una catena ormai It's a chain, by now Che scioglie il sangue dint' 'e 'vvene sai That melts the blood inside the veins, you know. Do you know Lara has some dutch ascend? Her father is flemish (real name Crokaert), her grandma is dutch and she speaks it a bit. Nowadays, Lara still has an amazing voice, she just released her brand new song last week, already a success in France, and her new album is being released late november.

First, thanks for reacting.......as noted, this piece was written in honor of the great Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso (R.I.P.).....originally written for the male voice, all the great ( & near great ) operatic vocalists have sung this, both male & female......this interpretation imagines a dying ( & knowing it ) Caruso saying "Goodbye" to his wife & daughter...."Te voglio bene assai" = I love you very much ..........

I've been around a long time, and have heard great singers from Maria Callas and Karen Carpenter to Adele and Taylor Swift. I was first paid for singing back in 1958. So, as a lover of music, and of the human voice in particular, of modern non-operatic women singers, I rate Lara higher than anyone else.

Hi there mate! It's been a while you last reacted to Lara. Yes, there's several versions of Caruso out there. Few quite good, Pavarotti's maybe the best for me. But when you have heard Lara's version and particularly this, other versions exists no more. You don't want to hear any other versions ever again. This is IMHO the greatest single live vocal performance. There is nothing to add or change or correct in this performance. It is so perfect that any change only gets it worse. THNX for this. Maybe a little more recent song with Lara next. 😎@TTkingsman

do you know that Lara is flemish by her father (real name Crokaert) and her grand-ma is dutch? She understands and reads it perfectly and speaks it a bit. Her mother side is Sicilian hence her connection to Italy. Lara is still singing with that beautiful voice nowadays. She just released her brand new song two weeks ago, already a success in France. And she will release her new album late november, co-written with the french superstar Slimane.

This is a song that,after Lucio Dalla the author,only Andrea Bocelli can sing.This version,at least in my opinion,is wanting of PERSONALITY.
@ericsicard910Ай бұрын
I think the opposite. All these tenors are showcasing their vocal power, she focuses on the story and the emotions Caruso should have felt on his dying bed. But you are perfectly entitled to feels sofferently, your taste can be different of mine.
