Coming from my American perspective I'm continually stunned by her. I think the only thing I can gather for the mind-boggling reason she isn't bigger here or wasn't bigger here is because of Mariah Carey and Celine Dion who were both all over the industry. To top it off, Whitney Released "My Love Is Your Love" a year before with hits still spinning. As fantastic as she was it would have been like if someone on par with Madonna had come about at the same time. Wouldn't have happened. I simply don't think there was a place for her to land. That said, Lara, took off in so many other areas of the world to MILLIONS of people in 11 languages. Why she isn't bigger or more known around the globe is lightyears beyond my comprehension.

I do love this song. This one also had dance remixes made for it by Hex Hector that were just out of this world. I adored them. They were not as popular however as “I Will Love Again” . It didn’t matter to me. I was hooked on Lara. Thankfully so. This is such a great song and video. Thanks for reacting to it Psyche.

You should check out more of her songs ! She’s an exceptional performer and artist ! Not only is she so pretty but she’s also part of the 3 best vocalists in the world, her acting is immaculate and her emoting, word painting, story telling... STELLAR. If you’re looking for emotions you should watch her 2003 je suis malade performance in the concert "en toute intimité". That one hit REALLY hard !

All her songs are great, but Broken Vow I feel was a moment, never to be repeated. Even if she sang it again, and obviously she has, she and no one else could ever sing it like that in my opinion. Hello, this song is from Lara's first English album, it was supposed to propel it to the American market, it also did well in the charts. Unfortunately the American dream did not take place at that time Lara could not bear to be formatted and ended up having a very serious depression, luckily for us she was able to get up and resume her career since that day she decides herself what she wants to do. Sony didn't push her because of Celine Dion's people. And they wanted to pigeon hole into a dance singer. She had every right to be a megastar in the U.S. Best female singer for me and she's just drop dead gorgeous! Je suis malade from her 2000 concert, From Lara with Love with English subtitles.

Hello Ben - no, 'thank you 🌹' for having the backbone to say what's what and it's true. We (I do not) get paid for this and it's almost a full time job. Unlike a lot of channels, yes I need good views, but that is not the be all and end all for me. I want to show case outstanding talent. Most channels, play the same 3 songs, and there usually the same, then it's off to another artist. As a mature woman and someone who has been in the industry for over 30 years, I understand how all this works. I didn't know anything about Lara when I started, but she is such a good find, and I want to not only show old work but her newer work too, and just mixing it up. I believe she would absolutely agree with my statements. I will try to bring newer work (pending copyright) to bring people up to date. She is an absolute 'gem' of a 'find' for me - I adore talented, steadfast people with backbone and honest desire - and she embodies everything I stand for. You are wonderful Ben - thank you ❤️x

@@BenMojo. Bless you and thank you Ben ❤️😘. Humbled. Everyone keeps playing the same thing over and over and over again - it's tiresome. Also I've played a lot of 'live shows' and I've played a lot of songs that no one else has bothered to play as I want to show case Lara in many ways. She is now in her 50s. If people like her so much, why aren't they pushing her now? The most important thing is, the reason I showed the video is because it 'represents' LOTS of different types of people/cultures who may not necessarily hook onto her style of singing live, especially the old stuff. When someone can see themselves in a video, it heightens their interest, and that is the way to get NEW people to be curious - just playing what is already tout here is obsessive and repetitive. If people want to see the same thing, then they should really start their own Chanel and play her stuff. Also running a channel isn't as easy as people think and I play many artists and people are grateful for that. I am not a 'super-fan' of anyone - I am a fan that adores super talent. I said it because the From Lara with Love is a live version and shows Lara in action with a lot of pizzaz including her great backing group . Nobody has reviewed that version so far, I think. A lot a reactors just play the usual 3 songs for views then swim to the next artist, whereas I prefer to explore a great artist because to me, I'll get the views anyway because of the consistency and more of her fans will follow me, which is what is happening. I know you didn't mean any harm, it's just that some people launch in, and want this that and the other yet offer nothing. Anyhow, more Lara will be coming - old and newer content though copyright is tough so I have to be careful. She is quite literally an 'amazing' , beautiful and truly dignified talent'. Fierce Lara is not to be trifled with! The scat she does at 2:48 kills me every time. And yes, she is extraordinarily inclusive, always has been, and it is thoroughly genuine. She risked her career in the late 90's writing a song in support of marriage equality. The 90's.

@@psycheinc-theSLC As it happens, a new interview with Lara was posted a couple of days ago with English subtitles. She talks about what it was like after she wrote that song, details I didn't know but could have guessed at some, like death threats. Other things I could not have imagined, like being told she couldn't play it in autocratic countries. But she always played it anyway, and paid fines for it out of her own pocket. I don t know exactly when this song was issued but it seems it s from the Mottola ' era, during 1999 - 2000. You have to know, dear Simplicity, that Tommy Motola, CEO of Sony, wanted her after her big hits in Europe. Tommy was just divorced from Mariah Carrey and Sony was producing the Celine Dion 's albums. So she came, and She made one album for Sony and the american market (the concert From Lara with love is from 2000 too). I think Tommy wanted her to be a new Mariah Carey, she really looked like her, don t you think so? May be a revenge to Mariah. But the american market was already full , no place for her, between Mariah and Celine.

Boy! Wasn't this song prophetic! She wasn't going to change who she was, leave her artistic integrity, her personal integrity for money and a foothold into the American market. It would have behooved Sony to listen to this song.
