Laura est pour moi, la meilleure de toutes les chanteuses à voix. Il n'y a pas que la voix. C'est aussi tout ce qu'elle dégage et la manière don elle interprètes ses chansons. Je ne me lasse jamais de l'entendre un grand merci à elle pour le bonheur qu'elle nous donne.

So glad you have found Lara. This performance was great, but it’s really only the start. Lara hit her peak vocal prowess years later. Check out the En Toute Intimite concert and MTV Unplugged Lebanon complete concert to see what I mean. She’s also still recording and touring the world. Thank you Angie for sharing this great moment of emotion that Lara manages to convey in the way she delivers a song. This powerful interpretation, I have seen it many times and it always has the same effect on me. Even when I listen to this interpretation on a CD, it manages to make me cry because the words are so strong. I'm just happy that you were able to discover this immense artist, there are obviously many others but Lara has a special place in the hearts of her many fans around the world. She has been singing for over thirty years and her community has always supported her in both the good and bad times of her career. She is not immensely known in the United States but she has a fan base who knows and appreciates her since her attempt to penetrate the American market...I wish you to continue your journey as long as possible with Lara. She has very few bad songs and has made 3 albums in English. If you want to listen to a song more enthusiastic than your first three listens, do "I will love again" it's a bit of a disco pop song. The song in this same concert is superb otherwise the video clip is good too...

Hi Angie ... (translate from French) In just a few days, you have just done your 4th "orbital" experience in the constellation of Queen Lara... All these live performances are... incomparable, almost "stratospheric" (and, live, you can't "cheat"). Vibrationally, it shakes, doesn't it ??... And you're not at the end of your surprises... "Caruso", "Perdere l'amore", "Je t'aime" (live in Paris - 2001), "Love by Grace", "I Guess I Loved You" and others are so many diamonds in their case. Personally, I think the most poignant is "L'Oubli" (a french song) because the story is directly linked to the illness that took her poor mother... I don't know if it exists with subtitles but, one thing is for sure, it's "gut-wrenching". Thank you for your reacts... obviously very "real".

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. The song was later also covered by the deceased Dalida. You can hear that the song written is for a man by the lyrics "smoking" and the "drinking of whiskey".
