A great conductor and two voices at the top of the roof: a MASTERPIECE interpretation! You talked about the importance of the connection between the singer and the audience among other things, and your point is reflected in a documentary about the world tour that Lara started for her 50th birthday (tour interrupted because of Covid). It happened in New York, where at the end of the first part of the show Lara was crying hot tears backstage because she couldn't connect with the audience who were applauding and cheering after each song. Her vocal coach did everything he could to comfort and motivate her but she didn't understand what was happening... she went back on stage full of anxiety and the intention of giving even more and little by little it came back... She finished the show happy. It just goes to show that it happens to the best, even Lara has had moments of doubt in her career...

I miss those times when singers used to sing with sentiment, and not just trying to impress. What I see nowadays are “voice gymnasts” trying to show off their pipes. The thing with Lara is that she always approaches duets with the intent of serving the song, not her ego. She automatically adapts her tone to her partner’s and tries not to outshine anyone. It’s a remarkable trait. She’s such a class act and Josh’s a great duet partner as well. 🤎 Their voices compliment each other’s perfectly.

That idea that looking eye to eye makes people nervous might be some cultural american thing because for people, for instance in south Europe (she's half italian) that isn't the case: we love to look people on the eye because if you don't do that, it's perceived like if you're avoiding the other person.
