Fell in love with Julie Christie when I saw this movie.Met a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes like hers. We married in 1973. We were married for 34 years. Lost her to breast cancer in 2007. My heart and spirit are still broken.

Interestingly- owing to the book being banned in the USSR- a copy was smuggled out to friends of the family who had emigrated to Italy- they got it translated into Italian, and that was the first published and available for sale edition. It was only in Gorbachev's time that Boris Pasternak's granddaughter was able to pick up him Nobel Prize on his behalf, with Gorbachev's approval.

Such a great movie, the romance part went mostly over my head although while Julie Christie was absurdly beautiful I remember thinking I would have liked Geraldine Chaplin. Mom died recently at 100. Passionate love was expressed in tranquil performance... Desire was hot, but reality was harsh... Happiness of union was followed by sorrow of separation... Only the memory of unforgettable love remained...

The tears in my eyes are for my mom and dad as I see them flowing around the dance floor to any waltz.

Have not seen Dr. Z for many years. Julie Christie in this movie is I think the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

My parents got married in 79 and this was one of their favourite films and this theme so familiar to me through my entire childhood. May God Rest their souls, both wonderful people, now no more.

One of my all time favorite films. My mother took me to see it in the theater more than 50 years ago. I fell in love with the story and the beautiful wintery landscapes portrayed. This song has always enchanted me.
