Great video. Being a former banjo player I love the variations of Travis picking. Now I can play songs I’ve already learned on the banjo. thank You !!

Heart of Kentucky. Hi LARA. My dad was a bluegrass musician, and we would go to festivals and jam with other musicians, and I heard this song often. Katie.

This song is why I named my Uke Sunshine, Sunny for short. This is the first song I learned on the Ukulele. This video just showed me a better way to play the song. I have to use a leather pick as I am too heavy handed to strum in the traditional way. Thank you for another instructional tutorial. Uke on!

Sunny is such a great name for a uke! 😊

Thank you for your tutorial Lara. I am an absolute beginner at playing the Ukulele and I must say it is quite a challenge for my 65 year-old brain and my hand arthritis, but I'm not giving up that easily! So, I really enjoy learning from your tutorials. However, I have a special request: Would you ever consider doing a tutorial for "Seven Spanish Angels" from Willie Nelson. It is such a beautiful song. So, thank you for your great teaching and please keep them coming!

That's wonderful that you're getting started on ukulele! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying my tutorials, thank you 🤗 I get a lot of song requests and I'm happy to add yours to my list for future consideration. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you so much, because of the COVID it is more than a year that I did not see my brother. When I told him that I had bought a ukulele in February he told me, when we see each other again, please play me You are are my sunshine. It reminds us of our father. You teach it well, in several versions. I am delighted.

Hey, thank you for the tutorial it’s very in depth but easy to understand. My grandma was trying to sing this song today but she was too weak and it broke my heart. This song reminds me of her and she’s not doing well. I decided I would learn it on the ukulele and this tutorial helped a lot. Again, thank you😔😊❤️

I would like to know, I bought Ukulele strings with low G. When I tune my ukulele do I use the same G or is there another key for low G.
@LaraMarkowitzMusic2 жыл бұрын
If you're using a clip on tuner you should be able to use it for high or low G tuning on the "ukulele" setting. The low G will be 196 Hz vs high G at 392 Hz. If you're using a tuning app (such as Pocket Ukulele Tuner) then you may need to specify Low G Tuning. Thanks for the question!

Lara, what Kala are you using? I have a Kai tenor but need a soft plectrum to get volume. A Kala has a much louder but a warmer tone and the ones I have tried easier n the fingers.

Is your C string an octave lower than default?

My C string is standard but I'm playing with a low G string which is one octave lower than traditional high G tuning.
