So .. where to store images finally in storate or in public folder ?

It really depends "when your using the command "php artisan storage:link" your creating a symbolic link to that folder (Usually found in the storage folder->then symlinked to the public storage folder ) . If your storing files that don't take up significant amounts of space locally then you may opt for this one. Laravel supports things like local filesystem, Rackspace, S3 storage, good for security, encryption, redundancy ( other people can get the files from a server that's closest to their region etc. ) and backups.
