Serious question to anyone who reads this. What allotment of your team's time is dedicated to testing? Are you allotted time from your managers?

Wrong way of looking at it. It's just part of the work, you don't allocate set amount of time for implementing a new api endpoint for example. You just write test cases as you write code.

Don't ask for permission for testing. Just do it to ensure quality of you work. If you are punished for commiting tests to the repo, keep them to yourself.

Tests are not a “feature”. They’re not something to be time-boxed or done as an extra “task”, because they will _always_ be de-prioritised for “feature” work. You write tests as **part of** feature work.

@@prashank Agreed. The difficulty comes into play when you specifically hear, that the feature needs to be done and specifically not to spend time writing tests.
