Great job on the masts, as you said, fitting masts will always require some modification to fit each and every section. Yes it is expensive, but looks good. We have these masts on the midland mainline near me. Ive enjoyed this instructional style video

Really enjoyed your catenary work. Easy to follow for anyone wanting to add that feature to their set up. I am third rail, but haven’t started to add it yet. I have seen the way to do it prototypically at Kernow web site, plus my remembrance of when I lived in the old Southern Region area. I am 12,000 miles from there now though!

Hello again Mark, nice to hear from you. Wife and me are good thanks hope the same with you. Will take time to complete. I think a few hundred and more by the time I finish. Purchased more at the weekend from WestHill so will carry on. It does set it off so pleased with it. If when you go to wunderland you need all day. We went in at 8am and came out 7 30pm. They do stay open some nights till midnight. Thanks for the continued support. Take care, till next time. Mick

Hi Mick, It was great seeing you again at GETS. I love the new platform lights, a very nice touch. Your Accurascale points were a good deal, I wonder how many others had that number of points. I don't like overhead wires in real life but WWW have done an incredible job of recreating the masts and yours is the layout to showcase them. Altogether another great update from you. All the best, David.

Thanks Dave, nice surprise seeing you to. I have had many comments asking if I were going to put over head wires up. Has I have a few electrics I thought give it ago. A costly update but I think it will be worth it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Hope you and family all well. Take care buddy. Mick and Shirley.

The new platform lights are super. Really look the part. I think there is too much clutter at the end of the platform. By removing the water columns it will look a lot cleaner . Regards John

I really hate to point out but the registration arms on the catenary needs to be reversed for every other one. This is what achieves the zig zag on the prototype, sorry to point this out but it does spoil such great work

@@michaelsmith-hn1cn Easy mistake to make, but if you can correct it, the catenary should stay tighter. You can fix them the same way on curved track, try to have the arms pulling the wire towards the outside of the curve. That then holds the wires where you want them. Try to incorporate an expansion joint somewhere in the middle of a long run, you'll be surprised how the temperature range in a loft can play havoc with the wires. I'm afraid I, too, have an improvement to suggest, remove the two water cranes at 38:30 before any sparks fly! But still, great to see someone having so much fun with his layout, some people seem to forget that enjoyment is what it's all about.
@michaelsmith-hn1cnКүн бұрын
@@oldandgrey495 Looks like I can't remove the arms from the gantry. I used Araldite, did't want them to come off. The wires are held in place with small magnets which is what keeps them tight. The loft is more of a room with no draft and also no heaters required rather than a loft full of beams and gaps. Good point about the cranes, I have already remover the signal a lamp and trunking. All good fun. Thanks for your reply and tips. Mick.
