My fabrics and batting - I use Vilene High Loft Volume Fleece 295 or quilters batting from the Remnant House in the UK:

I can’t live without my sharp stabby tool as I call it, is a clay sculpting tool. I bought it in my local craft shop. Amazon do sell them as part of a clay sculpting set but not individually.
All my other supplies are from Amazon including my large squizzors. They are listed as aquarium precision pinch action scissors. My small squizzors are REUSER brand and available online but you would need to do a google search for them in your country.
I use H2O gone FSL water soluble stabilizer or Brothread wash away, cut away or invisible mesh stabilizer for my stitch outs.

I've only had my machine a few short months. Because I'm in a few FB groups for embroidery, I see ads all day long. Decided to click on yours today and WOW! First watched the free pattern sewing machine happy place & now the gnome ~ you're an awesome teacher! I've wanted to try an ITH design but have been too anxious. You explain everything so clearly! Will definitely be back for more!!

Congratulations Liz on getting your machine, it is a sharp learning curve at first but mostly having the confidence to try things and practice the same as most learned skills. I am pleased that I am able to smooth the ride for you with my videos and give you the confidence to try multihooped designs. Happy stitching.

Would you not be better using duckbill sissors for trimming? Or are the squisers better?
@KaysCutz
@KaysCutz 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Haxelann I prefer squizzor personally as I have really bad arthritis in my fingers and thumbs so scissors pressing on my thumbs make cutting very painful but you can certainly use duckbills if you prefer. It is purly personal preference and you can use what suits you best. My smallest squizzors are great for getting into very tiny areas that would not be possible with duckbills thus enabling me to get a very clean close cut.Thank you for watching.

I will put your request on my list but it won't be right away. Do you have a Kreative Kiwi design in mind for the quilt you want to make as we have so many? In the mean time I have quite a few videos showing how to make a quilt, you can use any 4x4 design of your choice to embroider in the centre of a block. You calculate how many blocks you need to achieve the finished size that you wanted but the method to make the quilt itself would be the same no matter what size you were making. You would just be using a smaller design for the centre of your quilt block but you can make the blocks themselves any size you like just by cutting your fabric larger, quilting them on your sewing machine and then embroidering the centres with your chosen design. For example you could use the design in the link below. You could cut your fabric and batting to 6.5"x 6.5" so that you can trim all your blocks to 6"x6" afterwards and assemble them as you would any other quilt block. 4x4 baby block design: www.kreativekiwiembroidery.co.nz/product/baby-blocks-hoop.html www.kreativekiwiembroidery.co.nz/product/free-baby-block-machine-embroidery-design-set.html I do have a video below showing how to aline your fabric for a quilt blocks to the centrer of your hoop. You would use the same methode with whatever size fabric you have cut for your blocks, then you stitch your 4x4 design on top when you remove the block from the hoop your will have your quilt block ready to trim up and join together. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3S4lWyqnZeGnKs

Yes thanks kay I was thinking about doing something like baby Stoke holding baby over a moses basket.. don't forget 4x4 hoops.. x
@KaysCutz
@KaysCutz 3 жыл бұрын
@@marycassidy5459 I do a lot of videos for 4x4 hoops but you have to bear in mind that it isnt always possible for a design that fits a larger hoops to be reduced enough and stitch out well in a 4x4 hoop. Kreative Kiwi always give a 4x4 version whenever possible.They also give a lot of freebies for 4x4 hoops too. If you post a link to the 4x4 design that you want to use and I will see what I can do for you.
