+ukelaine Ya it's cruel. I don't trap animals for that reason. I am familiar with them though. The idea of the trap isn't to kill the animal- that would make the fur quality crap. Who ever set that trap for this amazing animal deserves to have the experience of being trapped themselves.. By the balls
@SausosiosIsrugos3 жыл бұрын
Chances are it's their own trap. It was just meant for another animal. They didn't have a tag for a cougar so they had to let it go. Most of these "released from a trap" videos are made by hunters themselves.

Janet Christian think again if you hunt whatsoever than you need those predator populations lowered or altered in some way or else you could go years without seeing deer or turkey etc ..

Trappers routinely release all sorts of non-target animals who happen to get themselves into a trap set for some other type of animal. The men who did this release were wildlife employees who know how to handle this kind of dangerous situation. If a trapper found this animal in his traps, the trapper would likely have called in the wildlife staff for assistance. The animal was never in any danger nor subjected to any harm at all. Those of you who have no knowledge or experience with trapping need to refrain from expressing uneducated opinions you have formed based on emotions and feelings for the animal rather than upon actual facts about what trapping is and how it works. What most of you are saying indicates a complete and total ignorance of how a trap actually works. You can watch this girl trapper stick her hand in a real trap installed along her trapline here. It may change your opinion of thinking that traps break bones, cause an animal to bleed to death, or kill the animal. Traps, as she shows, do absolutely no damage and cause no harm. They merely "handcuff" the animal until the trapper arrives to deal with it. Just as handcuffs don't harm humans, foot hold traps don't harm animals. Watch this video and you will see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/noW5fKRnpa99e8k Foot hold traps are designed to grasp and hold the animal by its foot without doing any damage to the foot. They are designed to RESTRAIN the animal, not harm it. There is no pain to the animal and no broken bones, cut feet, and most certainly the foot hold trap does NOT kill the animal. The reason these traps are designed to hold but do no damage is so that a non-target animal can be released UNHARMED. Trappers love the environment and animals just as much as anyone else does, maybe even more so because we spend our time with these animals. We don't want to see harm come to species which we are not trying to trap. This is not the place to debated the wisdom of trapping but suffice it to say that the professional wildlife managers in this video are quoted as citing the huge benefits trapping does for overall wildlife management and control. These Utah game biologists are not alone in their beliefs. Pretty much every game agency in the country sees trapping as a beneficial tool. If the professionals favor trapping in order to better manage the total game population, why do those of you who are not professional game managers think you know whats best? The simple fact is you don't know how to manage game and you need to leave the game management practices to the professionals.

At the moment you need your partner to "have your back," the sucker turns tail and runs! He even tossed the one thing between the two of you and one angry mountain lion, the safety pole. What an asshole. He has the bravery of a chicken. The other guy is a stud. As the cougar ran off with the pole, you all should know that those poles need someone holding the other end to keep it tight. So, I'm sure it fell off just down the trail and was recovered.
