Pallet shrink wrap, and lots of it. Stand in it and mash it down till you cant fit anymore....then put a little more and have a friend stand on the lid while you screw it down.

Interesting, have you done that before? It work well?

Go to a mattress store and buy there scrap pieces to stuff in target. One trip I got enough scrap to build 4-5 of these. I did build one that was 4x4ft.
@ZManOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting, what did that cost you? And you just went to a mattress firm or something like that? Thanks for the tip, plan on making another one soon.
@stormvet914 жыл бұрын
All scrap material was free. If I'm not mistaken your name brand bag targets are stuff with same material. Atleast mind was. That's how I came up with idea.

Nice video! Made one like that not too long ago, I do flooring so I have unlimited amount of carpet ! Works great though, I do have a smell after a bit in the Florida weather !
@ZManOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah, I keep mine covered with a tarp to try and help, but the moisture still gets in there here in houston too! But sounds like you can replace yours at any time with all the carpet you have!

Thoughts on using pine chips. The white flakey/curry stuff. I use it in my chicken coop. It comes in a big plastic bail and its tight. Cheap. But wages are the best. Goodwill.
@ZManOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
If it’s tight enough it could work for sure. Depends on your arrows, heavy arrows with more penetration could get through that potentially. People use bales of hay and that works pretty well too. I’ve also seen people use cardboard and tighten a bunch together with ratchet straps. But that can’t take a lot of hits before it needs to be replaced
@exielaws84164 жыл бұрын
what about using a belt for your handle? OSB is heavy could you use tin and metal studs? And canvas if you didn't like the carpet?
@ZManOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I belt could use for sure. May not be as comfortable, but much cheaper of an option and would work just as well. You could probably use tin and metal studs. Just need to make sure that it can hold up well and not bow out too much. I thought about canvas, I was afraid it would get too torn up too quickly. But you could do that and maybe double it up or just replace it more often. If you try any of these, let me know. I would be curious how it works for you

What do you think about using coroplast for the front and back of target?
@ZManOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hmm that’s not a bad idea, would probably tear up the coroplast quickly and need to replace it often, but it may work better for sure. I will have to test that out. Have you shot in to it before?

No just pop in to my head today when I was researching DIY targets.

Yeah let me know, I’ve torn up one side of my target now, so I’ll be ready for a replacement on that side shortly

My plan.......build box and throw in back of my van. Locate local dumpsters that are overflowing with card board boxes.
@ZManOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea, stacking cardboard real tight should work well too

I dont usually miss at 70 meters. However there is always that chance. I shoot olyimpic recurve.

My theory was the bigger the target the harder to miss haha. Especially as a beginner
