I've been caught well offshore in a 40 foot monohull in 20 foot + waves for an extended period. I'm guessing this cat wouldn't last five minutes if it were caught in something like that.

​@@merrittfallis6544 I believe it depends on the engineering, no telling how well reinforced it is or pin size, you could have 1 inch pins potentially and framing to match.

@bbwsr availabilities of berths are also another reason why cats these size are not easy to own. not only are the end berths expensive, they are also scarce.

Interesting. Got a question however. How long does it take to go from trailer to being underway.

only if its less than 8ft. in most placs once you go past 8 feet its a lot harder to tow (permits special towing rigs etc.. etc..) I want to make a 16ft wide pontoon boat 25-30ft long. but I can't go over 8ft if I want easy towing. I can afford this sort of complexity but I have other ideas (fold up hinged) to bring the "tow" width down to 8ft.

How can this cat cope with the down force of the mast? i love the idea tho.. just a big worry as i'm sure you will have a few tons of stress on your scissor style beam? get the plans copy righted guys

Agreed. One of the options I saw on multihulldesigns was 2 masts, one on each hull.

Buoyancy. The bows are above the water line because the boat is rest on the water towards mid ship.

Funny thing about this boat, lots of vids showing it open and close, some show it sailing but none show the interior. Wed site don't even show the interior. It don't have a very good interior
