Thank you for sharing these experiences with us. These photographs are brilliant, reminiscent of the art of Anselm Adams. I really appreciate the quality of the black and white pictures, which show your mastery. These are the best photographs I have seen in recent years. So, please, keep up the good work. Best wishes Rudi

Far too many people think that a snap with a mobile 'phone makes them a good photographer; stay by the side of the car and snap, that's it - maybe a few 'selfies' thrown in for good measure and posted too anti-social media. Oh, how wrong they are. Sir, you show what true photography is. The art form, the technical skill and, almost as importantly, a large format camera. I now use a 35mm SLR with a T/S lens due to a knee injury making carrying too much equipment less desirable than it once was. One body, one lens [sometimes a second as a just in case], a carbon fibre tripod, cable release, dark cloth and a set of filters. Pure, simple(?) and a joy to take time, to enjoy being outside spending time watching the light change.

There are other solutions, like the British Envoy Wide Angle camera, it is very light weight, with a Taylor & Hobson 25 mm lens, accepts 120 roll film, originally also sheet film. You don't need to focus, but dial in the correct F stop. This camera gives you 6 X 9 cm pictures.

@@shanedignum I can relate to that. So are my Leica, Hasselblad and Large Format lanses and cameras. I couldn't afford a new Leica these days even if I maxed out my credit card. Madness, that what I say. I am waiting for the AI to bite in, and in a couple of years all these M11s and M10 Monochroms will be like the film equipment after the first few years of digital, that they couldn't give them away. Alas, I am getting old now and theer may be no time left. Keep well.

Thank you! I have two different methods for developing B&W, I rate my film depending upon which method I plan on using. I stick with the same film and developer, FP4+ and Pyrocat HD. Yes, the pano shot was N+1, everything else was tray processed normal.

Really like your minimum commentary format, very relaxing to follow along. I have a question about your telephoto, is that a convertible 600mm/800mm lens? Depending on the rear cell, I suppose? Stunning images. Since you're doing more black & white now I reckon your darkroom is nearing completion?
