Amazing footage! Oh wow, the desperate Frog was putting up some struggle. In the end the hungry snake swallowed it okay.. and still alive?! I wonder, does the amphibian stand any chance to turn around and escape the elastic throat if eaten in that condition?? It looked to be desperately trying to move about 😢🐸😅. You were close to the encounter too? Was there no chance to grab the frog and pull it to survival, saving it’s life?

In my opinion, it is pointless to save a frog from a snake, because the snake will simply eat another frog afterwards to satisfy its hunger.

The camera? It's a Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 and the lens is a SIGMA 150-600mm. Maybe I should come to Poland to film sometime. I heard that there is a very beautiful nature there. 😊

Last year I helped a frog that was sitting on a road. Otherwise it would have been run over by a car for sure.

The frog was relatively easy to get down. The grass snake probably had to wash down that sand and silt with some water, though, as it seemed to have quite a mouthful of it in it's mouth. It would very likely pass it whilst scavenging any digestible remnants from it during it's passage through the snake's intestinal tract.

I suspect that the sand and silt are not a problem for the snake. Maybe it even helps with digestion.
