Large Oil Rig Guide | Rust Tutorial

After completing the small oil rig it's now time to take your chances at the large oil rig. The large oil rig will offer 6 levels with each floor containing multiple scientists and loot containers with no radiation. Within the red key card puzzle room, you can find a locked crate which will spawn a chinook and 11 heavy scientists when hacked. When looted the locked crate will provide some of the best loot in the game.

Thanks for the help I teamed up with a random and he helped me do large oil rig for the first time, I never attempted small oil before large I just went straight to large oil and I did it three times, 2 were unsuccessful and one was good but had pretty bad loot

You can use the room under the stairs with the research bench and two windows, try and shoot the heavies legs to keep them up stairs and close the door when they inevitably push down. Then just check through the 2 windows to who you can open the door and and shoot in the head. Easy enough as a solo

You can also crouch jump onto the platform above the red card room. It's the safest spot to take heavy scientists.

Amazing video! I’m not a big fan of Large Oil Rig though lol. I have ~1.3k hours in Rust and I’ve only been to Large Oil Rig twice. That’s just my humble opinion. Anyway, keep up the good work! :)

Best spot hands down to take heavy scientist is above red card room. It takes a bit of parkour either from the box to the door to the vent then onto the railing (crouch jumping the railing allows you to hold on to the railing then you can jump over, its a hard jump to learn but once you have it down its easy). The reason this is the best spot is the scientist will all stack up on the level right below the pad and you can mow them all down in a line and simply hide behind the vents when you need to re-load / heal. As a solo I can clear heavies in roughly 20-30 seconds with this method taking almost no damage.

Jfarr, if you have a holosight and a laser sight on the same weapon, it’s more beneficial to keep the laser sight off, as this makes accuracy/aimcone worse.

That would indicate someone has been to the oil rig recently and opened the locked crate and left or was killed by the heavy scientists.

I’m in a 5 man but we’re all very inexperienced. We got countered by a solo, he killed 2 of us I got him. He came back as we were about to leave and he came back at the worst time. I was in the water the rhib was driving in circles because someone made a mistake and someone else’s controller turned off. We all died. I managed to come back later and get a couple good items most importantly the grenade launcher but all of our guns were taken. We got very unlucky.

A hazmat suit is an all-round good suit to wear due to its protection against players, radiation and how you don't have to have multiple pieces of clothing. Previously it was bad against Scientists but it could have been fixed/changed so further testing is needed to confirm this.

Reused audio in every video

There is no reused voice audio from each video. Each guide has a dedicated script which contains similar or same content from each other. Therefore, I can create a template / reused some previous script structures. This helps me speed up the process of writing these scripts which can take hours and up to a day when i need to verify things along with studying for Uni. However, I record seperate audio recordings for each video based on its script. Hopefully you can now understand why some parts may sound similar to other videos.
