Choosing the best pig breeds will determine how successful you will be in piggery. Today we compare large white and landrace in terms of productivity and profitability. We also share why you can choose other breeds over landrace and large white pigs.
There are several factors to consider when determining which breed of pig will work for you. Size, temperament, foraging ability, and meat flavor are some of the most important qualities but you will also want to ensure that the breed you choose is well suited to your climate
If you’re a first time farmer or planning to start piggery, this video is for you.
More details till the end of the video.
Enjoy!

I think there's a mix up there. The Landrace actually are more prolific than the large white. Aside the ear difference, Landrace has a longer and more adorable body frame than the largewhite. However, in terms of immunity to diseases, Largewhite are more rugged and better than Landrace. However, a cross-breed btw largewhite and landrace is the best in terms of larger litter size and resistance to diseases.

Landrace and Large White are maternal Grandparent breeds. Their F1 (Hybrid) is preferably used as parent lines for production of slaughter stock. It is not true that the crossbreed is Poland China. Cambrough is basically an F1 line of the PIC Landrace and Large White. There is no natural breed called Cambrough. Therefore Landrace and Large White are not meat breeds but maternal lines.
