At the age of 28, I realized that being alone is better than being surrounded by the fake people in my life. I remained alone for 6 yrs, made my career, buy my own flat, wandered & explored new places with solo trips. It was a great experience. Finally, I got married with the person who actually loves me and prioritize me.

the focus on the nonveg food was so lovely... and how she abruptly hung up! but the unfortunate reality it's only a miniscule percent of women who are privileged like her, to have a huge space to herself and the luxury of solitude. I wish my mum could enjoy a haven like that once.
@sulaganabiswas

No, you can do all this in a small flat too, you don't need a bathtub or swimming pool, you just need an empty flat and some rest...just swiggy/Zomato in the food.
@mariavincent1750
@mariavincent1750 3 жыл бұрын
@@sulaganabiswas well, for people with OCD, just swiggy/zomato-ing the food isn't as easy as it is sound. every time we get takeout is a detailed procedure... a living in a flat can feel like a prison even if you're by yourself... depending on what your place means to you
@sulaganabiswas
@sulaganabiswas 3 жыл бұрын
@@mariavincent1750 in your first comment you didn't specify you were talking about women with OCD. Anyone with OCD needs medical help, it's a different case altogether. I am talking abt an ordinary overworked woman who can get a break from daily thankless jobs by being alone in her flat and ordering in food and just relaxing all day
@mariavincent1750
@mariavincent1750 3 жыл бұрын
@@sulaganabiswas yeah I understand I should've been clearer. sorry about that. but all i'm trying to say is we can't generalise it for everybody, as each person have their own circumstances to handle. OCD was just an example. It is generally hard for an ordinary indian woman to be alone in her house, since there will always be someone around. And a previous comment on class privilege is yet another example why Shefali's experience may not be always relatable. But if the conditions seem suitable, yes she could unwind and relax the way she's comfortable. It's a rare luxury no doubt.

How much thought & preparation goes into even the smallest of detail even with all your own work. Shefali Shah has impeccably implicated the plight of a partially not favored woman of a family. No matter how hard she works towards cherishing and celebrating the relationships of her life, there is someone who would constantly nag and some people who would constantly steal the thunder. She is simply superb. Have always played the realistic roles. Good husband, good wife, best couple is a myth. Its better to live alone and enjoy than in a society where people are double faced. Liked the way she enjoyed the cake, food and peace in solitude.

Its displaying a life of a lady who always sacrificed her interests prioritizing others. None ever paid any heed to her though they are enjoying their life. Now when she starts to enjoy being herself, she is again pulled. The climax shows she just wants to spend life for herself. What a lovely script and great cast!! applause 👏👏👏👏👍

The power of finally realizing that she kept giving into a relationship and a family without getting equal investment back and being treated like an option and sacrificing to now realising that Self love, self worth are the things that matter the most and keeping ourselves happy is the beginning of a lifelong and true relationship is the true message everyone needs to walk away with 👯💁

Loved the portrayal of each and every small detail that speaks volume.. her last movie juice and this one had this in common.. she speaks less her expression and the things happening around her speak more.. which is just fab !! Dear people, There is a difference between being alone and being lonely. She was alone in the film. Alone by herself after a very long time of doing everything for the family, and not being appreciated one bit. She found solitude and could just be whatever she wanted to be. Loneliness is accompanied by a feeling of sadness and isolation, which can even be felt when surrounded by people. Like how excess of everything is bad, being alone all the time could also be detrimental. We are social beings at the end of the day. Now, coming to Shefali Shah... I have been in love with her since Monsoon Wedding. She is a class of her own.

What a heartfelt film! ‘Happy Birthday Mummy Ji’ expertly navigates the delicate balance between grand celebrations and the quiet struggles behind them. Shefali Shah’s direction and nuanced performance of Sushi make this film resonate deeply. The curfew's impact on the party adds a powerful touch of realism to the story. This short film is a testament to the beauty of human connection and the hidden battles we face.
